Adapted from Elmore Leonard's novel Rum Punch, this screenplay is the only adapted work Quentin Tarantino has done to date. Tarantino decided to not only adapt this crime-drama, but also rearrange it slightly to pay homage to the '70s genre, Blaxploitation. Following a flight stewardess, Jackie Brown (Pam Grier), who has been taken into custody for attempted to smuggle cash into the United States.
