33. Why ambitious women who were bullied still play small...

from Dream Believe Become · host Bex Hogan

In the last episode I talked to Racheal Butler as she made her very ballsy move, whilst pregnant, from her fast life in London to the peaceful mountains in Gran Canaria. We discussed how, when we become mothers, we lose a sense of who we are and often have to find ourselves again. She used the Selkie Myth as a great analogy. This analogy made me think about how this translates into bullying and what it does to us. The transformation though, often doesn't come until later in life. When we are treated so badly at such a young, impressionable age, we build a protective layer around us - the selkie skin. But it's only when we free our minds of the hurt and criticism that's ingrained so deeply into us that we get to shed that layer. This is what this episode is about. The signs to recognise. How to spot if it's still having an impact on you and what you can do about it. Thank you so much for listening.I'd love to know what you think about this episode.
