Shekhar Chaware was born and raised in central India (Maharashtra) in the Jain religious tradition. Jainism is one of the world’s oldest religious traditions. It preceded and influenced both Buddhism and Hinduism. It emphasizes non-violence, including vegetarianism, fasting, and prayer. Shekhar is an English teacher and lifelong spiritual seeker who practices his religion alongside yoga and meditation. He speaks five languages and enjoys hiking, tutoring, and studying English language and grammar.
