#34 Molding Minds (Ryan Eubank)

In this episode, you will learn about Ryan Eubank and his mission in life. Ryan has a hidden disability to most people. As a kid in elementary school, he saw that learning was easy for most other kids. Other kids. And when those other kids saw kids like him who struggled with reading and writing, the words “little dummies” rang in his ears. It may not have been every day, but Ryan could see it and hear it from afar, and he knew who the other kids were talking about.   He remembers that when he was in second grade, the school was trying to figure out if he had ADHD or dyslexia. The diagnosis was dyslexia, a learning disorder marked by an impairment of the ability to recognize and comprehend written words.    Throughout Ryan’s school years, he was put into special classes called Learning Disabled (LD) classes, setting apart those who had learning disabilities from “regular-education” students. In elementary school, a learning disability was a label you wore during the school day because you would leave the regular-ed classroom. Ryan went to special-ed classes for his reading disability or for extra time on assignments.
