#34 Propaganda Part I - Book Summary
from Book Summaries by Wise Words · host Jes Oliphant & Tristan Alexander
Hey Wise WordiansWelcome back to another episode of ‘Wise Words Book Summaries’. Naturally, we thought it would be remiss of us to do a propaganda sequence and not summarise the original manual on propaganda itself - 'Propaganda' by Edward Bernal's, so here it is in two parts. Unlike the more modern books on propaganda that tend to emphasise the nefariousness of the topic, Bernays' approach is more academical, seeing it as a neutral mechanism that is essential to organise societies and influence the citizens to make the right choices in life. We covered topics such as:Organising ChaosThe New PropagandaThe New Propagandists The Psychology of Public RelationsBusiness and the PublicIf any of these topics sound interesting to you then make sure to give it a listen, and if you enjoy what you hear, why not leave us a like, subscribe to our channel, or even better, let us know your thoughts on propaganda in the comment section below, we would love to hear your take on it.Next week we will officially be finishing the propaganda sequence with the second part of 'Propaganda,' before turning our focus to habits, so make sure to stay tuned for that. We hope you enjoy!------------------- Chapters:00:00:00-Intro00:00:17-Overview00:13:27-Introduction00:18:36-Chapter 1: Organising Chaos00:43:18-Chapter 2: The New Propaganda00:52:30-Chapter 3: The New Propagandists00:57:27-Chapter 4: The Psychology of Public Relations01:06:59-Chapter 5: Business and the PublicIf you enjoyed this podcast make sure to check out our other content on our other platforms:Website: https://wisewords.blog/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wisewords.blog/Twitter: https://twitter.com/wisewordsblogFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/WiseWordsBlog
