Marathon des Sables is underway in the Moroccan Sahara, and this year's field is one of the most talked-about in recent memory. Nine athletes were selected from 17 invitees through a rigorous process including lab testing, performance trials, and interviews. They get the full pro treatment: coaching, camps, nutrition, mental performance support, and international race entries. Christian Meier will lead the program.
