The swarm, which includes a 4.2 magnitude earthquake, is located near the Calaveras fault, which is connected to the Hayward fault. This connection, along with the Hayward fault’s overdue recurrence interval, suggests a heightened risk of a major earthquake in the region.Abnormal earthquake activity is occurring in the Bay Area, California, following a series of X-class solar flares. The largest flare, an X8.1, was the third largest of Solar Cycle 25 and was followed by two more X-class flares, including an X1.6 that produced a coronal mass ejection (CME). The sunspot responsible for these flares is growing and becoming more magnetically complex, increasing the likelihood of a stronger flare and CME.A significant earthquake swarm is occurring in the San Ramon area, with nearly 50 earthquakes in the past hour, 21 of which are above magnitude 2.5.
