#347 - Se7en (1995)
from SOFA DOGS Podcast
Subject: Se7en (1995) Observers: John Pavlich, Heidi Jenkins Record Date: October 6, 2016, 08:23 PM Plot Summary: Two detectives investigate a string of homicides, motivated by the seven deadly sins. Note: It's time for the podcast's annual, month-long Horror commentaries. Heidi returns to kick things off with David Fincher's influential thriller. We talk about color palettes, the crime drama sub-genre, economy of storytelling through structure and character and the lost art of opening credits sequences. Remember to listen for the preemptive countdown before starting the film on your DVD. Correction: It was the film's editing, not screenplay that was nominated for an Academy Award. However, the screenplay did win a Saturn Award. Support: John's Go Fund Me campaign! Buy: Seven on Blu-ray at Amazon.com! Buy: Pop Art from John's Etsy Store (All items now 33% off)!
