348. Allie Ostrander - The comeback kid

Allie Ostrander picked up running inspired by her older sister Taylor. She quickly took to it and during her high school career completely dominated the track and cross country scene in Alaska. After finishing high school she joined the Boise State Broncos and became a multiple time All American across track and cross country as well as a three time national champion in the 3000m steeplechase. In this week's episode we chat with Allie about how she got her start in running, her successful college career as well as the ups and downs of being an elite athlete. Allie is coming off two US Championships medals recently, having finishing 3rd in the 6k championship race and 2nd in the 8k championships, everything is coming up Allie. But we also discuss the backside of professional running, Allie has suffered from an eating disorder that presented itself just as her running was taking off.
