And those things matter. But according to Chris SD, founder of Sync Songwriter, they're not what's standing between your music and a placement in film or television. The real barrier is access — and access comes from relationships, not submissions.   Chris built his reputation over years of networking, conferences, phone calls, and showing up in person — and once literally taking a music supervisor to a beach picnic. Those relationships are now the foundation of what he offers his students: not just sync education, but direct introductions to the gatekeepers who make placement decisions. Two of his students had five songs placed in Anora, the film that won multiple Oscars in 2025.
