It's awesome But that screen is so fucking big that I can't concentrate on it I have to keep looking back left or that and the second time we both we've both seen a second time separately I was also back at Edmonton when I saw it the second time for other reasons, but had time to go I went and saw it in just a regular I'm actually no 3d way easier to watch Yeah, the 3d like if you're not staring directly at the middle of the screen like everything goes fuzzy I mean, you know what I mean?
I don't think you got that feeling but it's hard to like focus on the movie when you're watching 3d I thought the 3d was good. I just thought the screen was giant to giant for it. Yeah at the time Yeah, like a 3d effects are cool But like if I found that it went out of focus a lot I think that just because like how big it was as well as like the glasses. I can't cover the entire screen Maybe we're also a little tired on We're very well rested at that big pizza big pizza big pizza Big dish We're in it at 15 pounds 15 pounds slice seriously.
Holy shit. That's good. Yeah. Yeah, if you're not a 3d person It's It's the only track you get you get the same memo across I don't know a little bit too much hype around it It's a lot of it's a long movie to be 3d as well.
I'll tell you have two hours of it 149 minutes Yeah, two and a half hours. Yeah pretty much right on the dot Yeah, but this this is an event This isn't just a movie I consider this an event because to 10 years in the making and And it's accumulation of everything or most of what Marvel's been doing with these main players and characters and stuff James, what did you think about this movie like overall before we get into it? Overall it was good movie. Yeah entertaining.
We had enough for you to go see more movie twice right with which right there Yeah, that's that's saying something you don't like Marvel movies to be or supergirl movies in general Yeah, I like Deadpool. Yeah, Deadpool is a different animal, but yeah, it was good movie. I mean Dig it up to the hype for me probably not but there's I I want to agree with you because it's lacking in a couple Players and we'll get to that not like storyline or plot or anything like that all that stuff is fairly rock solid But yeah, we'll get to why it I don't think a little bit of hype a little bit later I think it just it had all that hype to it, right? Yeah, it's been building up this for so long How can you make something that's gonna include?
Everything you know and have decent pay off this like that. Yeah, so and I'm not usually want to buy into a lot of hype For reasons like snowman and whatnot like where you're just super disappointed by movies. I look unreal in the previews. No for sure Okay, yeah, what about you?
How do you feel I enjoyed it quite a bit like when I was first watching it I liked how they split apart the different groups of heroes like they wasn't all just all of them at once group all the time I like how they split them up and they that also offered Different interactions between characters that you don't normally see interact. Yeah, and I think on that note that they paired up Like certain personalities right well. Yeah quite I think they did a good job of doing that. I think you got to see a little bit more like Well, first of all they're obviously having fun But also like some of these characters are being actually challenged for once.
Yeah, which you know I have some stakes to these movies finally a little bit a little bit for sure But you do you felt like a little bit more like especially with the villain You just felt like he could actually tear apart anyone with his bare hands I don't know why he didn't do that more often because I felt like he was holding back a little bit Yeah, but part of where my issues lie like they normally do is with the villain and I still think this villain though he was the best I are the best marble or even DCU on a big scale and On this massive of scale. Yes, I still like I still like my king soldier. Yeah, he was a smaller small scale Yeah, I like I still like his villain all the other villains are kind of one off and no good Yeah, people do well in the roles this villain, but this villain was obviously on a different level All right, let's get into the storyline of this well because it's so big. We'll give a quick little rundown of it Yeah, we'll be super quick and just be if everyone who's listening to this probably knows you Thanos is yeah I'm watching past marble movies.
So he's obviously the main player in the villain category and somebody argue leaves the main character Yeah, the director's inside. Yeah, I would say I'm also even saying that he is the main character He gets the most real time and everything is really built what he's trying to do Yeah, and it's his goal and his mind again what makes good villains is that he thinks he's doing what's right doing the right thing He thinks he's only one has balls to do it. Yeah, so he doesn't necessarily think he's a bad guy And I think that also plays into why maybe he holds back a little bit maybe but at the same time It's like it's hard to say he's probably thinking like in my mind like oh, I don't have to kill you I let fate decide what's like collect everything like, you know if it happens you disappear whatever you disappear or you live Well, okay good for you, but this is the way it's gonna go. Yeah, all right So yeah, he's on his mission and you see pretty much this movie opens with Right attached to where for Ragnarok and it's good.
It's pretty much and that's just first of all Because it sets a tone of oh shit This is getting real because you get two people killed by the bad You're low key killed yeah, but I'm kind of brutal It's like neck crushing to oblivion and then you get all the hindale snap to the chest Yeah, we just find like he was been a side character in the Thor movies He's not that crazy, but still like you felt that when it sort of went and you're like, okay, I'll get it I know how you do it and then I think you see the Hulk get the absolute shit get down Jesus you see him get beaten up before but never quite as like handedly yeah, like I thought I felt like that Hulk was like as he is He's a berserker, but then also when he's striking him He's taking the punches in thing a lot when he's striking him. They're like they're targeted punches He's getting throat punched like liver shot and just like just nitpicking It's like a white belt versus black belt in some like a striking one at this point time just that knows only has one stone Yeah, he's not using it. No, he's just gone on. Yeah, his pure strength and oil Yeah, and like you said it kind of like sets the tones the tone at the start of the movie But at the same time like like you said they kill like a side character and then in the grand scheme of Marble movies Loki isn't really a main character No, he's always been a side like he's like a B list character in the Marvel universe and then I herself I was like CD list I still think it's something Loki's up there just because he's become such a fan favorite Yeah, maybe he's not necessarily a big character for Thor and obviously he was the main antagonist in the first Avengers So having him being taken out just like just quick snap of the fingers snap the next That just shows like oh this this bitching shit.
Yeah, and he's been such a pain the ass for four for so long And then you just yes, whatever your flight. Yeah, but like they could easily kill Thor or the Hulk Yeah, right there as well. They could have it in so I'm kind of glad though Well, yeah, obviously glad because they're two super main characters Yeah, you know I mean but at the same time they could upstakes and even just also come back to the Hulk That's the only part we see of him in the movie like the trailer is kind of three you off that he'd be back But they made it kind of like an erectile dysfunction joke Sort of how Hulk wouldn't come back out because they don't really explain it But you're led to at least on the screen it's not to believe that he doesn't want to get that embarrassed again Yeah, it does want to get the shit. Yeah, so Bruce Banner is trying to like force the Hulk out And he's having his moment like a little jekyll and high moments.
Yeah, and he's bouncing back at the door I'm going out. No, yeah, so you get a lot of a micro flow which is good I don't mind. I know but I seem to see some Of Thor Ragnarok, you know, you got a little bit of micro flow mostly Hulk. Yeah, but I thought that was fine But the rest of the movie, you know the the characters get split up and you know This the world gets attacked at different places You see the different characters lower the place like visions are which are often their thing for the other era Europe and then you know You get Bruce Banner and dr.
Strange and Iron Man come together and like the whole Was it the interaction between dr. Strange and and running to here? Yeah, right at the start It's pretty good because they're both Benedict combo batch typically arrogant egotistical assholes in their own right I mean, they're both good guys But they're both very at least they've come from egotistical backgrounds and like the best in their class or whatever to see them Those two guys interact for the first time and talk to change even the movies like I don't work for you pretty much telling them No, fuck you. I can do whatever the hell I want It's good and like there are some fan favorite moments I can tell you right now when people came on screen like for one like the introduction of the Guardians people love that shit You hear their music come on.
Yeah, I've heard that song of them play before their music comes on You're like oh shit here. We go goodness you get the surprise little Visit from Captain America and Black Widow and Falcon people lost their mind when they first saw cap with his beard flow Beard flow. Yeah, I think it wasn't even in this move that much. No, no Not really we're kind of pissed about that.
Yeah, like they come in to kind of save the day with Scarlet Witch and vision And then after that they're kind of like that main battle Yeah Otherwise not really to big players a lot in the story But the main ones I'd say are probably again Tony Stark Dr. Strange is in there with him. Yeah star Lord Thor Thor Thor rocket Thor rocket mainly Groot's kind of off his side He plays apart. Yeah, he has a hand and things God kill myself so funny and who else is speak by man again?
He's yeah, he's pretty much just hanging out with dr. Strange at door or a man Sorry, he's the one of the three of them that make the plan to kill the psychic dude. Yeah And then he does he make the plan to get the gauntlet off Thanos as well something I don't know he made some other plan to I think it's I think it's the to get the gauntlet from down Oh, so he ends up failing, but yeah Star look at Star Lord. Yeah, it's emotional.
Star Lord to fuck. Yeah, of course crap. Oh, yeah He hurt so many people's feelings when he did that shit. He ruined everything.

I think this is the best Is the best version of Thanos we've seen obviously it's the longest but yeah, I think they put the most amount of time even in his cameo It's nothing compared to this the CGI is phenomenal You see his facial reaction is almost better than some of the actors that are doing their thing like you had actual Emotion that you can see in a CGI character, which isn't very often you see you can see it on rocker. We're coo and to which is pretty impressive Yeah, but yeah, he was really good. I thought they call it squirrel or rabbit rabbit Yeah, yeah, it's really it's really it's a testament to rockets character too because he's a stubborn little shit Yeah, but he's letting him call him rabbit.
Oh first of all he doesn't know what that is So he doesn't know if it's an insult or or compliment, but let's let's it go Yeah, and he's usually a pretty proud creature But he was actually some for some respects Thor. Oh drags. There's just so much to cover about this movie Let's talk about the Soul Stone really quick. How I know you haven't watched all of these movies But are you familiar with where the other stones were or like what they were doing or what? Most of them.
Yeah, yeah, I'd say it's all stones only one. They don't really yeah The soul stone was the mystery leading in this movie. I hadn't seen it So you had the time stone with dr. Strange and is yeah I knew about that one you had the power stone which was taken in the Avengers Yeah, and give it to that planet Yeah, Novacore you had the ether from Thor the Dark World to which at the time was just kind of a red gelatinous goo It wasn't actually stone so and you see that off screen to take it So I don't know how he put into a stone form What else we got?
Yeah, space stone which was in the Tesseract like the cube that look yet Yeah, and you have the Mind Stone which is in the visit head which was also in the the scepter of low-view's scepter. Okay. Yeah Yeah, that's based on what's desert and then what else are we missing? That's it, right?

Yeah, so the soul stone It's been a mystery leading up to you thought you're gonna see it in Guardians 2 or somewhere along the line on a post-grad scene And then you just kind of find on this movie that Okemora's known all along and here it is I Felt that was like a little bit of like a cop-out just to kind of force the story along I thought it would be somewhere you'd seen before have some sort of clue as to where it was yeah, but then it's just on this Miss Lane is planet on boom. Oh red skull is protecting it now and he's a Wraith Yeah, and you just have to kill so much that you love to get it that I liked Because again put some stakes into it But again, it's just one of those things where it happened to like Kimora happened to be the one to know it and he took her and you know Again, Red Skull hasn't been seen since half American one, which I don't think you've seen so yeah, yeah, okay So so yeah Red Skull kind of fucked off in the space and you haven't seen since and now he's back and some sort of a Wraith protector of the stone or whatever that was a cool cameo I was like oh cool. He's still around which maybe we might see him again someday But then I just felt like oh, they're forcing along to something he can get all the stones and like Yeah, I did kind of feel that way and it definitely like I said, I don't really like Someone you have to love Should have been stakes should have been a little bit differently for earning the stone or like a different way like it Kind of also does feel like a cop-out.
I mean again There's still he did like torture the fuck out of Nebula in order to get the information So I mean that helps it a little bit kind of like I mean Nebula only knew that Kimora knew where the stone was she didn't know Yeah, but he was using them to like again, yeah, okay, so that's where the payoff comes from again because Thanos or Gamora constantly says in Guardians how much that Thanos pitted Nebula and more against each other Yeah, so there he was doing it again this time, but not like fighting each other just using each other's just you being Manipulating or basically, but yeah, I don't know. I just wish that they could have done something different with it Yeah, that was my main gripe. I think a way to get the stone You know still you just have to throw off this cliff kill the main Guardian was just pretty ballsy like like not just Still who cares no, I know cuz all four like characters that actually die Yeah, well, I mean you get people aren't tuning into guards of galaxy to see Kimora No, I'm gonna see Chris Pratt Chris Pratt Rocket hilarious Groot Scott's moments well drags to then yeah, and then drags is just only there for conic relief like tomorrow Like she's I think she's badass But I don't think she's supposed to be a little bit more badass She is badass in the comics that the characterization I think they've made her a little less than what she actually can be yeah I think that's the flavor of the Guardians to though that makes them work as a group Yeah, rather than one stands out more so than the other I think yeah, I agree But again, it makes you kind of be like yeah who cares one thing that I was what I would have liked is when you know Thanos is beating the shit of Tony Stark like when they're one-on-one Yeah, and you see him like beat the fuck out of the nanosuit and his nanosuit is changing on the fly to armor him as he's going And which I thought that was really cool. Yeah, and he's just trying to figure out his last ditch ever You know he's trying to protect his head and he's getting fucked up has the blade down I was like ripped it off and just guts him.
I thought like oh shit that would have been like a big one Obviously like people would be expecting that but then they pull the rug out from underneath. Nope. Just kidding He's wounded severely, but he's living but he's fine. Yeah.
Yeah, like that's what I mean when Start like they didn't kill anyone of importance But then the snap happens They're coming back and I yeah, that's the part where I was like oh wait That's because I first when I saw this was like Like it's just it's just kind of like shocking because it was so sudden and because it's kind of eerie too There was no music playing what happened right? No, you know Thor he comes out and by the way awesome Just like when he comes in he's fully decked on his chain mail stuff. He's fucking rear to go It was badass because he's the best Thor we've seen up into this point You know he has his fucking weapon. He's got a new weapon and he knows how to use his full powers now Essentially, yeah pretty much so he's he's in good for him.
I guess he's a great for him Yeah, so he does a snap and then all of a sudden you just see people like the winter soldiers the first one to like integrate and then everyone else you know see black panther see grute Doctor Strange literally see everyone except for the main Avengers the main Avengers other ones that don't live yet that so Captain America Black Widow, but yeah, yeah, it's obviously done. He had a brutal death the more actually cares But yeah, so Spider-Man's death that one was actually like kind of heart-wrenching cuz he everyone else is kind of like waiting for it to happen And that's going slowly, but he almost has a sense. Yeah, he says He says maybe he's like oh, I don't feel that well Tony actually understand before he starts to sing He's like oh, I don't feel good Tony and then and he's like I'm sorry He has this heart-wrenching kind of moment with Tony and that's Tony's fear right off the bat like it's like he didn't He wanted this kid to like do better and protect it But he didn't want anything bad to happen to him right and here he is his responsibility like kind of just turned a Dust in front of his eyes and that scene apparently the director just told Tom Holland to just kind of improvise So that entire thing that wasn't scripted. He just did it which made the scene a little bit more impactful I felt for at least one of them, you know again, you know, he's coming back.
He'll black panthers coming back One of whoever else like you know, I thought he's gonna get his fuck winter soldier He's probably gonna be back. Yeah, it's garbage. Girl, which probably back as well But it's it's black panther That I thought and yeah, exactly all the guardians Jackson Starler and stuff They're like those ones kind of just like oh well, they're coming back because there's I know there's gonna be a guardians Three another black guy to do another to me a spider-man home to yeah Like it's one thing that I like knowing that there's gonna be more movies this at the same time You can't just have this type of ending where it's just like well, well, we know they're coming back why It still sucks because you're like, oh wait fuck, but we're the same type of like yeah You don't really care because you know they're coming back. He sees head cave in first Rips it out and then the vision becomes a husk a shell of a robot turns like black and black-grain light Oh The other part I was talking about the other scene where you realize that oh, yeah There's infinity stones here is when the guardians first go to nowhere to find the ether the red stone reality stone Yeah, and then you know you see komora take out Thanos It's like no got you good trick you the whole thing comes down here all the entire alternate reality And then he does the power thing to drags where I would have been really happy if they just left it like that Or he just blasted drask dracks and was a man's this where he just turned into a block of bricks Like all shape like him into different slices and then she turns into like spaghetti arms Yeah, and just unravels and if they left it like that, I'm like, holy shit because that that was surprising I was not expecting that even though again It's out of the comics, but I was not expecting that just happens like that and then I don't know what his thing with bubbles are Like a whole gun. He's like you're gonna kill a komora. It's just again.
Just fucking with him. Yeah I was like, oh you got the stones. I can actually kind of respect you now, but I got a dip out so you're on your own by Like that was again like a manipulative like villain thing to do just for the shits and gigs of it, you know Yeah, I just fuck it with people essentially I like that. Yeah, it was cool It's like the black order with all those like aliens fighting everyone was in Wakanda like okay pretty cool not bad All right, but if that was gonna snap his fingers and like Spaghetti and because he's only to get the reality, but he already had like five stones Yeah, you see he's the one that envisions had yeah, but so he could still literally do whatever the hell he wanted He could take the power stone and just like you've seen an event and I've been his guardians were like the eternal's had Like they just blast out of the tiring because yeah No, no a lot of people like after seeing it and then coming up like oh Why eliminate half the population of the entire universe when you can just make a new reality with a whole bunch of different resources available or use time stone to rebuild your civilization or Now just like some of the motivational problems with it right like you don't have to do this and then there's also this thing where you know You see the easiest option I'm snapping fingers not fingers twice The post credits you see Nick Fury and Marie Hill and they're talking on the show what's happening elsewhere on Earth Yeah, although the timelines again kind of off with it because she Marie Hill saying oh something's happening in Wakanda They're just finding out now and then two seconds later like see a helicopter drop out of the sky or something And people are trash so it kind of jumps a little bit and they see Sam Jackson get out his space pager send off a message He disintegrates to where that's kind of like I like how people it shows the Impact of the snap elsewhere not just the hero's lives but in real day today So I don't know if Thanos took into account like all these people like traveling in like say a pilot in a jetliner And then also just the pilot just the pilot goes away for whatever reason and then the entire plane just crashes So that's a little bit more than half the population's like they take that into account or you don't care either way It's just one of those things where you think about it too much It's again, it's a comic movie don't put too much time into it still enjoy the hell out of it Yeah, it's still good. Maybe still entertaining lots of cool accidents. I was unreal. Yeah And just like finally could see dr.
Strange. She actually has cool magic tricks Yeah, he's making himself like whip bunch of shit like a multiple versions of a thing where the hell did a psycho? Oh, he's just a little bitch. He's like, uh, you guys are fighting Thanos.
