35: Sushi Girl (w/ Jay Kay)

Welcome back for our first FULL episode of 2019! We trust that you are suitably over the festivities and that regular service can now resume? Good! It's Episode 35 and we are delighted to be joined by Dread Central/Horrorhound journalist/host of the awesome Horror Happens Radio Show (which holds Andy among its esteemed alumni), it's Jay Kay! His chosen film? Sushi Girl! Surely fitting the remit for the show by being painfully overlooked and underseen, Kern Saxton's Sushi Girl is a crime thriller, firmly in the vein of Tarantino which features a mind-bogglingly impressive cast that features Tony Todd, Mark Hamill, Noah Hathaway, Cortney Palm, Danny Trejo, Michael Biehn and Jeff Fahey! The synopsis is as follows:  Fish has just served out his prison sentence for his part in the heist, after refusing to give up information on his accomplices or the whereabouts of the missing diamonds. After release, mob boss Duke invites him along with the rest of the gang, including Crow, to a dinner of sushi served on a the naked body of a seemingly catatonic woman, by chef Sonny Chiba. But Duke still wants to know where his diamonds are, and when Fish doesn’t have them, the party turns sinister. Fish soon finds himself tied up and systematically tortured, as the gang try to work out who is telling the truth, and more importantly, who has the diamonds.
