Joined by dynamic Sydney-based DJ and saxophone duo, SaxBeatz, featuring Malina from New Zealand on sax and Tom from Slovakia on decks and production. Known for blending live sax and percussion with everything from tropical summer vibes to high-energy house and EDM bangers, SaxBeatz delivers a one-of-a-kind performance experience. The duo shares the story of how they met through Gumtree, initially starting as a business partnership, but later mixing business with pleasure as they became a couple a few years into their musical journey. Malina and Tom dive into their creative collaboration, the process behind their high-energy sets, and their shared journey of building a music career in Sydney. They also explore the challenges of working in a competitive industry, the importance of community and networking, and the evolution of their sound as they continue to release new music and collaborate with other artists. Malina also shares her experience teaching saxophone and the highs and lows of life as a musician. With multiple residencies at iconic Sydney venues and performances ranging from beautiful beachside venues to luxurious super yachts, SaxBeatz is constantly evolving, bringing their signature energy and passion to every gig.
