from I Could Never Do That · host Carrie Barrett

You ever have one of those "Office Space" moments where you're sitting in your cube or your open-air space office and you just want to say, " this" and go do the thing you REALLY want to do? My guest today did just that. (minus the whole hammering the out of your computer thing).  In 2012, Shannon Burke left his full-time job as a municipal planner and pursued his dream.  Together, with his love of cycling and his knack for logistics, he created Velo View Bike Tours. The name Velo View is a tribute to the unique way the world is seen from the saddle of your bike. Promoting and sharing that perspective is what Velo View Bike Tours is all about. Today, they host rides and tours throughout the country including The TN Smokey Mountains, the Carolinas, a Virginia Wine Tour, and even a Kentucky Horse Country and Bourbon Tour.  Plus, they are also available for private groups in and around the Chattanooga area where they are currently based.  So many of us have said, "I could never" pursue my hobby as a career…It's not a real business, people won't take me seriously, who am I to think I can do this?! Well, you can. It's a of a lot of work, but the result and the views (or in this case, the velo views) are well worth it.
