#352: Eszter Horanyi 2 -- The Tale of Her New Unsupported Nolan's 14 FKT

This week we are beyond honored to once again be chatting with the incredible Eszter Horanyi!!! She recently set the unsupported FKT on Nolan’s 14 (an approximate 100 mile route that takes you up and over FOURTEEN of the Colorado 14ers, mostly off trail!!!) It’s an incredibly difficult, near impossible challenge even when you have a support crew. Eszter did it by herself. Completely unsupported. Along the way she battled snow, sleep deprivation, and a brief stint on the second to last mountain where she forgot what she was doing and why she was doing it! Imagine ljust realizing you were high up on a mountain surrounded by rocks in the dark with only a GPS route you were following…for some reason. Ultimately she finished the challenge, set the FKT and even celebrated with friends at the finish line (including the legend @courtneydauwalter who, at first Eszter was suspicious of being a hallucination 😂) It’s an amazing story and turned into one of my favorite episodes!!
