36. LA County Civilian Oversight Commission Role & Initiatives w/ Attorneys Brian Williams & Jamon Hicks

from The Legal Lens Podcast · host Angela Reddock-Wright

LEGAL LENS is back this week @kbla1580! The L.A. County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission is joining us, and we're excited to have Attorneys Brian Williams, Executive Director, and Jamon Hicks, Board Member, with us to bring you up to speed on the role of the Commission and its initiatives. The Board of Supervisors established the Commission in 2016 as a way to increase public trust in law enforcement. The Commission's vision is to "ensure transparency and accountability in law enforcement," and its role is to ensure that the Sheriff's Department is held accountable for both policy violations and misconduct by deputies. The Commission also works on behalf of communities by providing them with opportunities for input into the department's policies, practices, and procedures. We’ve got a lot to talk about! To listen to our live show, tune in every Saturday @ 11 AM PT & Sunday @ 1 PM PT on kbla1580.com and on the KBLA TALK 1580 app. We’ve got a lot to talk about! 🔔 Follow me on social media to learn more about the Legal Lens episodes & news from the legal world: Facebook: facebook.com/iamangelareddockwright Instagram: instagram.com/iamangelareddockwright 🔗 Connect with Angela:  InstagramFacebookLinkedInVisit Angela's Website
