36. Margaret English-Aurisch - Running Legend

from The Stronger Stride Podcast · host Stronger Stride

Margaret English-Aurisch is not your average 71 year old. She doesn’t miss a day whether she is running, walking, stand up paddle boarding, doing a weights session or dancing through a Zumba class! Health and fitness had always been a priority for her, although it hasn’t always been smoothing sailing. Margaret has had her fair share of health concerns throughout the years which makes her running feats even more remarkable. Margaret is one of the original Terrigal Trotters (no.17) and a well known and loved member of the Central Coast running community. At the end of 2020 Margaret broke the NSW Masters Age Category 3000m record with a time of 15.51, and has since made plans to lower the record again. Margaret has a passion for movement of all kinds and is looked up to by many as a running role model. We loved getting to know Margaret a bit better, she spoke about her journey into the running world, her sporting background and some of the shifts she’s noticed across running clubs over the past 40 years. We hear about her usual training week, sustainability in sport and of course her favourite pair of running shoes. We cant wait to hear what you think of this conversation.
