#36: The Cru Write Borges: Death by Inches

Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges was known as a writer of mirrors and labyrinths, and this week we take a look at his work while using his short stories as inspiration for our own. Like Pierre Menard, this is the Cru writing Borges (or, at least in the style of Borges). Listen for strange and fantastical tales, nos ficciones increíbles. From Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable: Killed by Inches. In allusion to divers [sic] ways of prolonging capital punishments in olden times; e.g. The "iron coffin of Lissa." The prisoner was laid in the coffin, and saw the iron lid creep slowly down with almost imperceptible movement--- slowly, silently, ut surely; on, on it came with relentless march, till, after lingering days and nights in suspense, the prisoner was at last as slowly crushed by the iron lid pressing on him.
