#36. Vexed the Barber - Spend 5 Years, Look Back, Adjust, Repeat

“ the same friends you came in with wont always be the same ones you leave with “ Vexed the Barber ( @vexedoriginal ) has always been drawn to music one way or another. Feeling outcasted and misunderstood in school he opted for hardcore music shows over parties and hangouts. These drove his ambitions and changed his inspirations. In the begging his music with the scene he frequent most, sticking the hardcore style until a group of friends came together to test the hip hop waters. He is the only one still around from that group but isn't alone. Vexed has made it almost a mission to surround himself with the right people. Building a network of like minded ambitious people is something he tells us is pinnacle to make it over the long term. He chose a less familiar route to fuel his music career, picking up clippers and going to school to become a barber, common but once he graduated he didn't head to the shop, instead he brings the shop to you. “ if people are willing to spend an extra $5 for a cheese burger I bet they would be willing to spend $20 for a good haircut “ So he tested the waters and the waters provided. He uses his “day job” to found his life while music builds his legacy. Building a team and find new people to collaborate with are the primary focuses for today. He used small goals that add up to the big goals to stay on track. “ I don't want to get into my 40’s and look back and wish I did something” that's why he advises everyone, especially if you're younger, if you have an idea, just do it now.
