After a brutal 28-21 loss, I’m breaking down the two things that can’t coexist in winning college football: crushing turnovers and an offense that coaches like it’s afraid of its own quarterback.I get into the ultra-conservative Rutgers football play calling that set the tone early and never truly changed until it was too late. I talk through the repetitive mesh looks, the refusal to stretch the field, and the sequence that still makes no sense: getting a huge takeaway, driving into scoring position, then calling four straight runs up the middle and turning it over on downs. That’s not just a bad series.
