367. Seeing Motherhood as an Investment
Welcome back to the kitchen table. Motherhood can feel like an ongoing cycle of giving and waiting, with moments of discouragement about whether it’s all paying off. Bethany recently shared a powerful comparison: the pecan tree. A pecan tree doesn’t bear fruit until 10-14 years old, and it’s only fully fruitful after 18-22 years. Just like a pecan tree, your child is in process, and you are investing in their growth each day. It’s easy to feel discouraged when you don’t see immediate changes, but remember: you are investing for a lifetime. You don’t control your child’s growth, but God does.James 5:7-8 reminds us to be patient in the process. Patience isn’t about immediate outcomes but about trusting God and remaining committed to the journey. While we may not see the fruit right away, we can rest assured that God is at work, both in our children’s hearts and our own. So, when you feel discouraged, think of the pecan tree—slow, steady growth is happening, and the fruit will come.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood.
