Katie Lafferty and Roma Ahi are the producers of this year's Canadian Screen Awards, airing on April 16 and hosted by Samantha Bee. Katie and Roma talk about the new hybrid model of the CSA, how they work with the host, having film & TV in one ceremony, how streaming can affect ratings and the state of the Canadian Industry as a whole. Connie Cocchia is the filmmaker behind When Time Got Louder, a lovely story about a girl and the lengths she goes to protect her younger brother, who is non-verbal and on the autism spectrum. It also follows her as she goes away to college and comes to term with her sexuality. What does mean to Connie to create awareness for both the LGBTQ+ community (of which she is a member) and Autism and ASD? She talks about how the story was inspired by the relationship with her own sibling and how she sought authenticity by casting Jonathan Simao, who plays the role of Kayden, and is on the autism spectrum himself.
