What this episode covers
The brothers of Jesus, who at first did not believe His claim to be God's Messiah, suggested that if He were to get any notoriety as a Rabbi, He needed more publicity. He had to get out into the open, mingle among the people and the 'press the flesh‘. But Jesus‘ style should have precluded that anyone outside of Palestine should know who He was. He shunned the limelight and, in fact, encouraged people not to publicize the marvelous deeds He had done and the gracious words He had spoken. And yet He has become one of the most well known persons of history, and that, without any of the common efforts that humans exert to become well known among people. Jesus attempted to maintain a 'low‘ profile and He encourages those who would follow alter Him to adopt that same style that we might call 'anonymous servanthood.' Scripture references; John 7:3-5, Mark l:40-45, Mark 5:21-24, vs.35-43, John 5:30, Luke 18:35-43. Luke 10:25-37, Mathew 25:3I-46, Matthew 7:2l-23 [KJV], Luke l3:20~21, 1 Corinthians 15:58 and Matthew 6:1-6.
