How do you handle transformation and change? Gricel Arroyo, owner of Arroyo Pets, shares her journey of adapting to her business over the past year. Starting with a focus on nail trims, she gradually expanded her services, with other grooming services now accounting for half of her business. She highlights the need of being open-minded and learning from one another's experiences within her team. Becoming an employer has been a learning experience for Gricel, as she considers herself more of a team leader and mentor than a boss. About our guest: My name is Gricel Arroyo and I began my journey as the proud owner of Arroyo Pet January of 2021. My primary focus then and now-protecting pets by providing professional hygienic mobile/at-home services. My business idea came about due to covid-19. I wanted to help my community members who were struggling with caring for their pets during a pandemic and have not stopped since. I have 4.5 years of veterinary experience and I attended Illinois state University, graduating with a bachelors in Animal Science. Not only am I running a small business, I am also working a full-time job while I grow Arroyo Pet. This past year has been an incredible experience and I have no doubt things will be amazing for me next year! I am also proud dog owner of a gentle 9 year old Golden Retriever named "Zeus" and a spontaneous 3 year old dachshund mix rescued from Ecuador named "Salinas".
