The Word tells us to do nothing from selfishness or self-conceit, but to humbly set our minds on the mind of Christ from within when it comes to considering another more important than ourselves. We are required by our Lord to not merely look out for our own personal interest, but also for the interest of those around us. This cannot happen unless we are devoted to each and every Body member by making use of the love of God that indwells us – this is true and honorable giving before our Lord (Phil. 2:3-4; Rom. 12:10).
