38. Internet: Jennifer Lee & Hannah Sabata

We hope everyone had a Happy New Year! This week, we take a look at two crimes involving the internet. Rachel starts with the case of an email hacker named Jennifer Lee. Her boyfriend, Eric Abramovitz, was accepted into his dream program with a full scholarship. Only, he didn’t know that. Jennifer, who was living with him at the time, deleted the email and sent him a fake rejection later. When Eric found out years later he decided to sue. Next, Nathalie tells the story of Hannah Sabata, the “chick bank robber”. Hannah stole a car then robbed a bank using a gun, a pillowcase, and a note. She later posted a Youtube video with a full confession in the same clothes she was wearing at the time of the robbery. We discuss Hannah’s history with authority and what may have led to her crimes.
