#38 - The Winners Circle

from Improversation Hosted by Improversation Podcast

The Dallas Stars became the first of two teams to book their ticket into the Stanley Cup Final. The Stars went through some rough stretches the last couple of seasons with players being called out and a coaching change, but here they are. Will the Lightning join them for Game 1 Thursday, or will the Islanders keep it going? Now that Vegas is knocked out, what do we make of the goaltending situation? Lehner didn’t look great in the WCF, but there’s apparently a five-year deal waiting for him. What’s the move for the Golden Knights? Does The Flower say au revoir? Award season continued this week as well! Lou Lamoriello of the Islanders snagged the Jim Gregory GM of the Year award, Sean Couturier of the Flyers won the Selke, Nathan MacKinnon of the Avalanche won the Lady Byng, the Jack Adams went to Bruce Cassidy of the Bruins, and Mark Giordano, captain of the Flames, took home the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award. Speaking of the Flames, the interim tag has been removed and Geoff Ward is announced as the new bench boss (officially) in Calgary. While that happened, Peter Laviolette was also hired in Washington, and boy did he get himself a payday. Also on the show this week: Nick Bjugstad is traded from PIT to MIN, Steve Simmons and Kyle Dubas, Listener of the Month Joe, Slumpbuster fantasy football league update and Gio takes home the Camo Jacket in his annual boys' golf tournament! *Jagr Salute* Like, rate, and subscribe to our YouTube channel - FaceOff Hockey Podcast Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/faceoffpuckpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/FaceOffPuckPod @WriterGiovanni @The__Cack @Mike_Lasko Listen to us on: iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Anchor, Breaker, Overcast, RadioPublic, and more!
