384: Platinum Plans & Pragmata

This week on the Cheesy Controller Podcast, Anton and Chris finally dive into Pragmata, breaking down how much time they’ve actually gotten with the game so far and whether it’s living up to the mystery surrounding it. Chris also shares his full thoughts on Mouse P.I. For Hire now that he’s rolled credits, while Anton gives an update on his latest strategy to finally lock in that elusive Marathon platinum trophy. The episode heats up with a ton of industry news, including all the major reveals from the Final Fantasy XIV 2026 Fan Fest—especially the brand-new expansion slated for early next year—and a surprising shakeup from Xbox as they lower the price of Game Pass… but at the cost of removing Call of Duty. The crew also reacts to rumors of a Game Pass and Discord Nitro bundle, and the unexpected announcement of a new Steam Controller, diving into its price point and features. Anton keeps the monitor talk alive with more updates on his setup journey, while the group zooms out for a broader conversation around FromSoftware’s catalog and what makes their games hit so hard. To round things out, Madrid and Jalen report back with even more early access impressions of Slay the Spire 2, and how deep the addiction is starting to run. It’s a packed episode full of impressions, strategy, and plenty of industry shakeups you won’t want to miss. 🧀🎮
