387 – Night Stalker – Malum

Carl Kolchak is being questioned about a crime, but what crime, and who committed it?  What has Kolchak gotten himself into this time? Simon and Eugene discuss the Night Stalker episode Malum. Synopsis: Carl Kolchak is being questioned by the police as is police Detective Carver. A tragedy has happened and it is clear that the police want to help one of their own and send Kolchak down the river for the crime – whatever it was. Kolchak has been investigating mysterious deaths happening in and around a possibly-abused child, Justin Seaver, and his decidedly-creepy father, Ezekiel. As the bodies mount up, Kolchak builds his case against Ezekiel, while Justin tries to get himself a new home with his friend Ryan and Ryan’s father, Detective Carver. Ryan is kiddapped and the case culminates with Detective Carver killing Ezekiel during the rescue. [expand title=”More…” swaptitle=”Less” tag=”strong”] Too late Kolchak realizes that it is Justin that is possessed by evil and that Ezekiel was an exorcist trying to keep the boy’s evil under control. This was all Justin’s plan to get free of Ezekiel and now he has a new home with Detective Carver, who is unaware of what he is. Soon, Justin has been murdered, Detective Carver has admitted to the crime and the police want to pin it all on Carl Kolchak.[/expand]
