Matthew Smith is a design director working across strategy, type, interaction, illustration, and code. Matthew is also a writer, and runner. Most recently, Matthew was the associate design director at High Tide, a small full-service studio working across strategy, design, and experience for a wide range of clients—from early stage startups to legacy brands. In 2020, he founded Morning Type, an independent type practice where he also maintains the Type Foundry Directory and is building the Typeface Directory.
