Um mit einem 3D-Drucker Teile herstellen zu können, wird ein ganzer Zoo an Software – und natürlich der Drucker selbst – benötigt. Mittlerweile ist das Hobby des 3D-Drucks stark kommerzialisiert: Hersteller bieten, neben den eigentlichen Geräten, ein Ökosystem an Software, Apps und Zubehör. Auf der einen Seite sorgen solche All-inclusive-Lösungen für eine niedrige Einstiegshürde. Auf der anderen Seite kauft man sich dabei unter Umständen tief in ein geschlossenes System ein. Dabei gibt es für eigentlich alle Teile dieses Prozesses quelloffene Optionen. Dieser Vortrag gibt einen Überblick über Open-Source-Lösungen für die verschiedenen Schritte des 3D-Druckes: - Erstellen und Bearbeiten von 3D-Modellen - Übertragen der Modelle in Maschinencode (slicing) - Software auf dem Drucker selbst bzw. zum Fernsteuern eines Druckers - quelloffene 3D-Drucker Für jeden dieser Schritte wird ein Überblick über die verfügbare Software und Systeme gegeben. Es werden Vor- und Nachteile aufgezeigt und, wo möglich, eine (Live-) Demo gegeben. Am Ende des Vortrags bleibt Zeit für Fragen und eigene Vorschläge.
