Al McGovern has engineered products and built strong mechanical engineering teams in 6 different industries at 7 different companies in 6 states over the past 40 years. During that time, he’s used many subtractive and, since 1991, additive prototyping methods in both Research and in Development efforts. In additive, he’s used equipment from 3D Systems, Stratasys, EOS (metal), DTM, Z-Corp, Carbon, Markforged, Desktop Metal, Formlabs and HP. He is an advocate for early and frequent use of 3DP in product development from ideation to field trials, and is still seeking his first production 3DP use in high quality consumer audio products.
