The third annual youth academy continues in Kigali in Rwanda under the theme: "Youth Contribution to Prevent and Mitigate Electoral and Political Violence in African Countries". The overall objective of the academy is to strengthen capacities and skills of participants to become more effective agents of positive and constructive change in electoral and political conflict prevention and mitigation in their respective countries. It is hosted by the department of Political Affairs of the African Union Commission and the Africa and West Asia Programme of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, in partnership with the African Governance Architecture Secretariat and the National Consultative Forum of Political Organizations in Rwanda.
