Do you hesitate to make certain requests of your team because you feel like they’re unreasonable? Some of the requests leaders feel most uncomfortable asking are completely justified and important for the success of the business. In this episode, Alex shares six common blockers that hold leaders back from making reasonable requests. He also breaks down four examples of requests that are reasonable to ask of your team, given the right environment.  Many leaders think certain requests are unreasonable because of six blockers (0:50) They can’t envision it because they’ve never seen it (2:48) They don’t properly define, document, and communicate what they want (4:45) They are deluded by pride (6:06) They don’t trust enough to share the information necessary (7:09) They have a team that’s overworked and under-organized (7:59) They lack a team with understanding, ability, and willingness to own outcomes (9:42) These four requests are reasonable to ask for, given the right environment (11:49) 1. A dashboard that shows what matters and the story it tells (13:52) 2. An executive assistant who manages your personal tasks, email and calendar (18:17) 3. A meeting where they present 3 options and a recommended course of action (23:22) 4.
