Aim for at least three to seven days of bleeding for a healthy period. Consult a healthcare professional if your period lasts longer than seven days or if you experience spotting. Maintain a healthy menstrual cycle length of 25 to 35 days. Monitor the consistency and color of your menstrual fluid, aiming for a consistency like maple syrup and dark red blood in the middle of your cycle. Use at least 30 to 50 mils of menstrual fluid during your period, equivalent to six to ten regular-sized pads or tampons. Consider using a menstrual cup to easily monitor the amount of menstrual fluid lost. Seek medical advice if you experience symptoms of low estrogen, such as dryness in the vagina, painful sex, low libido, joint pain, anxiety, or disturbed sleep.
