Send us Fan MailAre you pregnant and perhaps a bit unsure about breastfeeding? You might be wondering whether there is anything that you can do to potentially help prepare for breastfeeding while still pregnant. Alternatively, perhaps you're a second time pregnant mother, who didn’t have an amazing experience with breastfeeding the first time around, and you want to set yourself up for the best chance of success for your second bub.Today I’m joined by Susie Prout. Susie is a registered midwife and international board-certified lactation consultant based in Perth. She's also a Mum of three young children. Susie helps new mums learn how to breastfeed and also helps with any problems that come up along the way. She believes breastfeeding education needs to be relatable and realistic for the modern mum as there are so many demands on us and it can all feel very overwhelming. Susie is also the host of the podcast - Australian Breastfeeding Podcast. In this episode, we discuss the benefits of education and getting informed while pregnant, as opposed to waiting until your bubba has arrived. We discuss support networks and establishing the village around you to help you feel supported in your breastfeeding journey. Susie talks to us about milk supply, how it is established and maintained and discusses what supply and demand really means. We also discuss the many options that are available for breast pumps and when to purchase one. LINKS:Preparing for birth Pelvic health checklistFree 7 Day Trial Pregnancy WorkoutsFree 7 Day Trial Postnatal WorkoutsFitNest Mama WebsiteInstagram @fitnestmamaInstagram @susieproutlactationSusie Prout Lactation WebsiteAustralian Breastfeeding Podcast** This podcast has general information only.
