4 Ways to Activate the Genius Modes for You and Your Workforce

from The Even Better Podcast · host Sinikka Waugh

Sinikka Waugh and David Dubczak discuss 4 Ways to Activate the Genius Modes for You and Your Workforce.   In this episode of Even Better, Sinikka Waugh welcomes "Creative Dave" (David Dubczak)—a middle school teacher turned creativity champion—for a lively conversation about unlocking your inner genius. If you've ever felt like creativity is reserved for others, this one's for you. Together, they explore four practical ways to ignite your Genius Mode and tap into the creative energy that lies within all of us. David shares how he discovered that creative thinking can be learned, honed, and activated—and isn't just a mysterious gift. Drawing from his book Activate Your Genius Mode, his award-winning work as a producer and playwright, and his experience in the classroom, David brings powerful insights into how creative skills can be practiced and brought to life at work and at home. With his passion for "productive failure" and imaginative play, he shows us how to recognize our natural strengths, embrace experimentation, and spark new ideas through storytelling, reframing, and fresh perspectives. Tune in and discover how a few simple shifts can help you—and the people you work with—feel more creative, more confident, and, yes, even better.   David Dubczak (pronounced Doob-chak) a.k.a Creative Dave, loves helping people be more creative. He believes everyone has their own secret "Genius Mode," and creative thinking is the key to unlocking it. David has been a middle school teacher for 10 years, where his studies in creativity grew out of a desire to find out the reasons many students struggle to make creative ideas. His research led to his book, "Activate Your Genius Mode," and the new "Genius Mode: School Edition" to help teach anyone the creative thinking skills that turn you into a genius. David is also an award-winning producer and playwright, and his video productions have won several awards with organizations such as the Iowa Motion Picture Association, Broadway World, and the Festigious International Film Festival Los Angeles. David earned his Bachelor of Science in Education at Drake University, and his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instructional Technology at Iowa State University. He loves to speak and workshop on creativity and productive failure.
