40 - Connected by a Song

from Some Kind of Brown Podcast · host Natalie Evans

After 24 years, I finally got to be reunited with my cousin Mansfield at a powwow in Grand Rapids! It was absolutely surreal and so many things happened that were affirming to me not only as a Multi-Racial person, but also as a Choctaw and Cherokee woman. Despite everything else going on, I'm so happy with how far I've come with my identity and reconnecting in just under a year. It's been a beautiful ride and one I hope to continue forever.  Thank you to all of you who've been incredibly supportive and have helped buoy me through the rough patches. I am so incredibly grateful for each and one of you in our Some Kind of Brown family!
