#40 In The Face Of Adversity

Episode 40 is a slightly different episode. I usually plan out the content of my solo episodes, but this one is straight off the cuff and directly from the heart.The news is full of stories about the war in Ukraine, the cost of living crisis and debate about whether we are heading towards a global recession, or indeed already in recession.In the episode I want to share my philosophy and approach to more difficult times. Why in times like these, we need to respond and not react. How we need to operate from a resourceful and abundant mindset, which will allow us to be at our most creative and be solution focussed, rather reliant on the actions, or inactions of others.Key TakeawaysWith the current situation happening a the moment, it’s important to remember that there have been similar situations in the past. This too will pass.Choose to have a perspective of a resourceful mindset. It's an important aim to find solutions for ourselves rather than relying on somebody else, or some external factor coming to save us.Be in a position of planning and base your plans on the set of circumstances that you are presented with. Look at each of these situations, from the perspective of what can I do to support myself? What can I do to support my family? And what can I do to support those around me?Actively choose not to wallow in the what ifs.You can choose to react, or you can choose to respond. And that is the difference of a scarcity versus an abundant mindset.In an abundant mindset, you’ll have the best ability to be resourceful and the best ability to really connect with the art of the possible. Whilst with the scarcity mindset, we shut ourselves off from having the ability to tap into our creativity, because fight or flight takes over.Being in a state of fear and panic and worry isn't going to change the external situation.
