40 Schwarbombs, Peters’ 5 Game HR Streak, Suarez Clutch Slam Then DFA, Ketel Marte Drama, MLB Free Agent Frenzy, Weekend Preview

Happy Friday, Ballers! Today, we start off our show taking our usual Baller Trip Around the League as we kick it into full gear for the final stretch of the regular season. From there, we peer into Kyle Schwarber being the first to 40 HR in MLB and discuss the historic run he is on now completing the feat in four of his last five seasons with the Phillies. In Chicago, we take a look at the impressive streak Tristan Peters of the White Sox is on as he homered five games in a row and discuss the history he is chasing on the South Side. Later, we get into some baseball drama. First, the Reds DFA’d Eugenio Suarez and T.J. Freidl on Tuesday, Suarez hammers an important grand slam on Wednesday as part of their six run rally in the 9th and then cleared waivers yesterday meaning they will complete the season in Cincinnati as we discuss the awkward developing situation there. Even more dramatic, we discuss the wild timeline of DBacks’ second baseman Ketel Marte who no showed a game in Boston and what has unfolded in looking at a unique situation you don’t typically see in MLB. To conclude, we look at some interesting proposals by MLB for a new collective bargaining agreement including a three week free agent period in December to allow for more eyes and active movement within the offseason before previewing all of the weekend baseball action.
