40 - Values vs. Behaviour: The Path to Ruin
from The Chris Endrey Podcast Hosted by Chris Endrey
We are all riddled with contradiction. Whether in our view of ourselves or the world - life and society seems to be an ongoing process of navigating, failing, correcting and re-asserting flawed understandings of reality. It's an inevitable and important part of navigating a world in which we don't have anything near approaching perfect perception or understanding - and a world in which no two of us share the same viewpoint on everything. But despite this inevitability, the rate at which we succeed or fail to identify these inconsistencies matters. Because the larger the gap for the greater period of time - the harder the correction will likely be. Hearkening back to the episode on the lies we tell ourselves, this time Chris revisits the topic at a civilisational level. And with so many of our core stated values being exposed as mere words with the daily news of the middle eastern wars, Epstein files, Trump administration overreach and expansion of extra-judicial tech surveillance on all fronts - it might be as important a time to look truthfully in the mirror as there has been in a long while.
