Dyslexic Sunday, guys. Get around. I actually normally dehydrate for Sundays in preparation for Sundays. Well, if Hamish Blake, who was on episode 100, was anything to go by, I think we've only got about 150, 170-something episodes to go.

I thought we were doing 10 years. I mean, we've set out to do 10 years of the show. How are you feeling about that, by the way? I think we're just getting started, to be honest.
100% just getting started. We're just getting started, yeah. I feel like 400 episodes, I'm just starting to fucking work out how to spell my name. No, I just feel like I'm starting to find my stride, find the comfortability within every show.
But then it just allows me to focus on other things. So that's why I'm just getting started. But he did say that it was like, he's like, maybe 575 episodes in, you realise this isn't the thing that we are going to be doing. Was it 575?
I can't remember a specific one. I'm just going to say we're about to pull it up. It was something around... I'm not saying that.

He's had three smoothies today. But his point wasn't that we're just going to finish it up. But it's like, it takes some time, committing to something, and an extended period of time to realise that it's like, hey, this isn't actually a thing, but it got us to where we want to go to. I heard Harps talking on his podcast with Sam Wood, The Bachelor, who we're going to have on.
I did a little post, and then Sammy slipped into my DMs, and we just had a bit of banter, but he's going to come on. He was The Bachelor, who's now married to one of the girls. Was it The Girl? It was one of the 20 girls, and it was...

He's married somebody from a reality TV show. That's a legit marriage. It's amazing that the one that he selected is the one he's with. Oh, yeah, yeah.

I'm up to pussy's bow with these things. I'm going to look it up. I've got kettle of fish. Anyway, we were talking, and he's coming on the show.
It's not the point I got off track. But on the episode with Craig Harper, Craig was mentioning that he's done maybe four different podcasts, Do you remember how much you made? It was like 500 bucks. I mean, it was great, and I didn't think about the people that would be going out.
So, you know, like, you never think about when you create this. I'm glad that I don't think about, fuck, I wonder all the people. Like, now I reflect on who Craig is connected with and think, fuck, I was just being a little cheeky dog. And so, before we started this, we didn't know who we'd be speaking to, and we've had some amazing people.
But he was just saying that, you know, he's done four attempts at this. At podcasting. Yeah, if you counted mine, and he had two podcasts previously, and the one that he does now by himself, the You Project, but he's like nearly 100 episodes deep. And it's just, he's saying, this is the one that he's committed to, and this is the one that he's found commitment in.
And so, I don't know the equation for commitment. You can look at a few of the ingredients. It's like, somebody to keep you accountable. There's something that you actually like that can show up, even when you don't like it.
But then I don't still know what it is, right? Can you put your finger on it, JJ? First, let's get a definition of the kettle of fish. I got the phone to 97 because I couldn't work out exactly.
It means a different thing, but I've also got the origin, so we didn't know the origin of phrases. Yeah, yeah. I can't remember. Where the fuck's it from?
It's actually from a fete. It's like a festival or whatever back in the old days in 1785, where tents and marquees would be pitched next to the banks of a river, and they've just got a big fire, and they throw live salmon into boiling kettles. Oh, it's a bit dark. It's a white.
I don't know why it means a different thing. Fresh salmon from the river straight into a kettle. I mean, a kettle isn't like, where? I mean, I've got a fucking kettle.
It's probably a big kettle. It's a bit different to my bonfire. What's my kettle? The one that's very expensive.
Very expensive. I don't know. Yeah, I know, but I'm just trying to say, it's different from 1700 to 2019. I'm rocking a 300-buck kettle at home.
Why? Because we got it for our wedding. Like, we used some of the wedding money to get it. But I think, yeah, we use it a lot.
It's fucking amazing. Like, it's set your temperature. You can set your temperature. It sounds like something I would do.
I used to have one that was for tea. That would actually dip the tea. I'd have to chuck it out because I kept tea in it for too long. I mean, settle down.
Don't be criticizing my purchases because we currently have here in the studio the toaster. The expensive toaster. Because we ended up getting one given to us. I don't hate toaster anymore.
But to your point, formula, I reckon it's so many different things. It's doing it together in a team. I think that's a big part of it. But then you can always, like, anything you can come up with, I can then question, right?
Because, so, the team thing, right? You fucking drive me insane. But I also love you. This podcast has, you know, grown our friendship beyond most friendships I have.
Like, I've talked with you. I looked, I added all the numbers together. When I say added, it was already pre-dubbed. I just looked at them on the spreadsheet.
And I was like, we've done something like seven days straight of talking across these 400 episodes. It feels like we've done more than that. Yeah, it was like we did seven. But so what I'm saying is, is that all it was?
Seven days? Seven times 24, Mr. 97? Yeah.
It's fucking shitload. I don't know. I don't know. It'll be like 160, 160 hours.
What, seven times 24? Yeah. Anyway, it's a fuckload. I thought the seven days was impactful.
I'm not fucking over Siri, by the way. I are Siri. Anyway, the point I'm making is that it's hard. Like, with somebody else, it is a hard slog because you have their life, your life, your feeling, you know, they're feeling emotions.
And just, you know, like you're testing each other all the time. And so you end up learning each other. Amy said, sorry, I'm doing a bit of a monologue, but Amy's been listening to current episodes but then going into our back catalogue. So she's like shit from ages ago.
And she made a comment of like how much easier we are to listen to now. And I think, and that's not to say that it was shit back when we started. We were. She didn't say that.
She wasn't saying shit. She was just saying such a difference in the relationship, the trust that you and Josh, you can hear it between each other, you know? Well, I guess it was also hard doing 100 odd episodes where we were remote. I did a post on our Instagram account the other day, which was the first photo of us doing it remotely when I was away for three months.
And to think that every single, like what was it, like four times a week, because every Friday we did a guest episode that we pre-recorded in Melbourne. So before I left, we did how many? It was like, oh, we did four in one day, but we nearly fell apart. It was like 16 or 15 or something.
There were a lot of episodes of guests that we banked before. Yeah, it's just a week, a normal week. But that's the thing. When you start a creative project, if you think about where you want it to be, you can't actually do that version of it from the get-go.
You'll fall apart. But isn't it also weird that we've only been doing this for 18 months. I was watching highlight footage, and it actually feels like a lifetime. It's a weird way.
It feels like I'm editing 10 years. Like the difference in all of us and how we are as individuals, it's ridiculous. Well, we now do 365 episodes a year. Yeah.
Regardless. Favourite memories. Miss 97, what's been a favourite memory? And it can be, why don't we do one, you as a listener, before you start working on the show, which is quite self-indulgent.
But I will go there and say a little bit of a test. Me as a listener would have been the first ever episode I listened to is Haymes. Yeah. Episode 100.

No, because that was a day when I came across you and then Tommy, and then I listened to the podcast, and then I reached out to Tommy. It stings, doesn't it? I get it. It stings, and he also thinks I'm pretty funny.
The problem is that it did take you about three months to reply to my LinkedIn request. Did he even reply? Yeah, it did. It's only when I was in the office.
It was good. It worked out brilliantly. What? That you negated?
No, it's just how the whole thing went. He went to my people, and my people vetted him, and now he's here. And so the EA is working well. I don't know if you actually, if you responded to him, and then he didn't follow me up, I don't know if he'd be here.
I don't think it would have gone the way it did to me. Yeah, I was in a nurturing mode. Yeah, it was. It was at the free.
So what was the best memory? It's crazy. How long have you actually been working with us now? Probably just maybe like eight months.
Is it ridiculous? He's aged 10. What? Yeah, probably...
Even though it's scary, it's probably... Yeah, definitely a shameless dating. Yeah. Yeah, it has to be.
You grow so much with that, and I wouldn't have done it otherwise. I think that's right. It's good to get the push for that. Yeah.

I was at the gym at school running on the treadmill. And you said, we got this email from Dylan in Canada. And I was like... Looked around in case, like, did anybody else just hear that?
But I had one's in something. Excuse me. And then being on the show, I don't know, that's tough. Because it's...
Each day is so different. There's all this new stuff. But meeting at the airport, it's not on the show, but it's part of the show. Definitely.
Having you guys at the airport running towards me, and I'm sitting there like 30 hours jet lag, and all I want to do is go to bed, and you guys are like just running at me, and there's a camera. I like a camera flash. It was amazing. I'm never going to forget that.
It was great content. I mean, I saw that video that we have. It was just an embrace that you and I had. Fuckers.
It was beautiful on. It was good embraces all around. It was my embraces. Real colors.
I mean, you were rattled, Dylan. I was a bit in shock. Which was silly. That's what we were going for.
I thought it was going to be a bit more animated. I mean, it was jet lag. I had to fucking expect my expectations. I mean, for me, it was real when we're running out to you.
And the reality is, you've just got a folder of documentation. But I always have a filter of how it will come out on a video. Because I know how something will edit together. That's what I've told people that we've been working with.
Talent. Talent. It's like, I know this feels awkward right now. Lean into it.

Off the podcast. I can do anything. I was joking. Because when I said off the podcast, I meant for the guys when I was just listening when they weren't in the show.
No, just like, it's not even a specific moment. Because I've said Seth Godin's podcast, the different chats. Sometimes I've felt great within the chats. But I know that they are great reflecting on them.
But I think just doing something where we can rock up each day. It is something that we enjoy. That's pretty cool finding that. I think that.
And you don't find that without putting in a shitload of effort. And so that's where the reward comes, from hard work. It's not, you know, I mean, people focus on hard work. But then it's like, there's, the hard work's required in most things.
Yeah. And so you can work hard on a fucking building site. It doesn't give me the reward. I've done that.
And it zaps my fucking, you know, happiness. Is that why you didn't get into trades? No, no. I conned my dad into a six-month.
I conned my dad into an apprenticeship through his business, but then pulled the pin three, four months in. You still have a cash rate? Oh, my 300 bucks a week. Was it like a government-funded?
No, no. You just work for him and then do trade school. Okay. And so, I mean, this is, yeah, I thought that.
But think about how different that path is. If I didn't agonize and feel shit about doing it, it wouldn't have driven me to look and search for what I want. I like the fact of what we created. Like, it's the physical fucking, you know, mentally, that's not the right word, but just like the bond of everybody.
You know, like, I love that that's a creation, too. It's not, we've got all the tangible stuff. Yeah, I also think, like, you guys, the Gronk Squad, like, people were watching, listening, the fact that, I think that even seeing people doing videos, that was a crazy moment. It's something called Actually Film, because we're so used to doing this now seven days a week, and we're just talking, and we don't see any faces.
And then, yeah, the Instagram interactions and that sort of thing, I think that's a big one, too. Because I think about all the people, how many avatars do we, how many, like, Gronks do we know that are avatars on Instagram that we didn't know, like, six months ago? Oh, yeah. Just think about all the relationships.
I mean, we had Hayden, who was just in here. Hello, Gronk. I mean, stop wearing that fanny pack. I like the thing.
Bumbag. Don't fucking wear it. We're trying to appeal to a wider audience, mate. I feel like the Daily Talk Show bumbag would be great.

It's nice to have you got something that's happened in your life. I mean... What do you mean? You just answered.

Yeah, how do people think that? That's one of the criticisms that I've always had with people. I've had friends say to me, you only ask questions because you want me to ask you the same question. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think it's just because I ask a lot of questions and I don't have that many answers. It was like the time you asked me the highlight of my weekend. I asked you and you were just like, panicked. Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, so I think that's what's funny. I mean, I'm just going through my head. We're putting out today a highlights reel, which is going to be the new trailer of our YouTube channel. I reckon it's a mix.
It's a mix of the fact that we have brought something that can be fun in travel, but then also at home. like a relationship in some ways you think about like when you have a relationship there's the excitement of like the day-to-day in the home and just being able to lounge around at home but it's also the adventure i guess that we have to do both it's like being able to go and do i think doing the big strawberry having that filming it getting out eating shit kfc at the end that's horrible wasn't it but all those things the mix of road trip but also i think that when anytime we get to clear the day to do just the daily talk show is when i'm like that's pretty cool it's the i mean for any creative working out how to make that their thing full-time is is the greatest challenge right and so that's why i see as the greatest challenge but also what will probably be the most fulfilling thing working out because that's like you're trying to crack that code right for anybody who's trying to do something you become successful painter musician whatever it is it's like fuck you've actually been able to work it out because these are all just you could look at the problems that problem might feel negative but it's like if you like solving the problem it's a good one to try and figure out and you look at your your creative life or you know or business i mean what's trying to relate to something that's not fucking creative or just podcast land or like you know being a musician or something yeah a musician is for a lot of people it's like okay i'm going to be a musician that performs at weddings or does cover songs but the idea if you were told no you can do your original songs and you can have an audience and that can be your lifestyle well julian haig was talking about that fear of success that some of us have right seems fucking weird that people have a fear of being successful but it's when you think about other people looking at you like you always don't want to you it's almost very empathetic or very um selfless but it's also negatively selfless so it's the selfless being i don't you're usually looking at other people going i don't want them to feel bad that i'm doing this thing and achieving because they're not there so you're like i don't want them to feel those feelings but then it completely sabotages our own world for somebody else and so how do you be selfless but also respect have self-respect for what you want to be doing i think it's easy because we're a team now i think that's a big thing like whenever i'm doing something it doesn't feel like i'm doing it as an individual it feels like i'm doing it because it's going to build us all up i think that's probably part of it i mean from the future we like one thing we love doing is looking at the past especially me nostalgia and i feel like the good thing is like the spectrum of nostalgia yeah can get quite short i can look back two weeks ago i can laugh at the um the red foil moment yeah uh the burrito fuck up which happened this year i mean we live in this unique space where i think it's pretty productive for most people to look at anything that happens i'm not saying super negative stuff but look at stuff and go fuck there's a story there oh fuck that just adds to our character all you know the adventure you know break down everything is what's jules lund had that radio show um the dash it's not about um the years on your tombstones the dash in between something like that which is like the middle bit all that shit that you that you experience you know i'm looking forward to taking mr 97 overseas that's one of my things i'm looking forward to where do we think we're going to go first i mean i'd like i mean we'll probably do dubai yeah but i feel like u.s might come first yeah i want him to do u.s like i think it's because it's the foreign countries are hard and they feel different he's been to a foreign country but he went with his parents and they were paying uh we went to we did all of you okay there's something that there's like the barriers like going to the states i feel like the states is like it's a candy land like they've got all everything it's like you know all the technology all these different foods like shit loads of population which means they can have weed stores that open are open 24 hours and like we don't have that road trips are great it would be good to be able to do a road trip through seven days i think that's something if you think about it uh how did the u.s like the u.s that we did last year it sort of like happened in a roundabout way like we've been talking about it we just made it happen well nothing happens unless it's made you know unless you make it happen so it's like what it's always friction everything you fucking do if you you committing to that holiday it's six months overseas where it was four months four months it doesn't make sense you know what else are you gonna do yeah this place doesn't make sense no it's all pretty weird isn't it it's so strange life is fucking weird man like your vision is you're talking about eyesight your vision is just a projection of your mind in this moment which is a fucking weird thing because you can shut your eyes and walk over there is the same harris stuff yeah like when you start thinking about like you can close your eyes and you're still seeing nothing's changing you're still being you can still use your visual field with your eyes closed it hasn't just shut off to what like your consciousness is still there yeah and that's why like physical it's like atoms yeah it's like they're all constantly vibrating to make shapes and shit and it just yeah i mean when you start looking at life like that it is like shit's weird that we care about and dreamer i mean it's always true if you were to dream about what the show could be in the very future like say in the next five years six seven years yeah what could you imagine what's something that you'd like to see give us a visualization what about bring it to yourself though because you and i can talk yeah so it's like you what's your perspective where do you fit yeah you can't have the show i'm sorry yeah but we love you so what was the question again yeah if it involves me playing a train question is um in the next five years yeah what do you what do you think what could you imagine that this is good so it's not yeah yeah is that what i just said no but i was trying to protect deal from um not having to just answer our vision and try what i previously talked about yeah no it's your i think that you're always plotting i feel like 3d deal is a plotter yeah i think you're thinking about stuff and you're dreaming up what could be and you're even talking about like the early version is i'm going to set up like my room i'm going to be able to produce from there and do all that sort of thing but what is five years what is one experience that you'd be excited about for the potential future for myself within the ecosystem of the daily talk show consider the voice what i i mean it's 400 if we're gonna if we're gonna be at any time indulgent indulgent we'll raise friends also say oh geez i'll listen watch the episode the guys like talking about the stuff yeah it's our fucking podcast yes yes i'm team all right are you guys take a breath oh that's unfortunate i just don't know my knee five years um i was thinking about this a little bit the other day because like you said i'm a bit of a plotter um it's gonna make something i would obviously still love to be involved in the show and i don't plan on going anywhere like if i'm if my situation is i'm still living in canada for financial reasons or visa reasons i'm okay with that but i'd still have to be involved with the show and doing like the remote producing kind of side of things um but expanding the daily talk show into nine days away nine days no no no um incorporating like uh my my vision and my uh design knowledge and stuff everything i've learned and do a like what i want to do is i want to start a design company yeah i tried to get the domain name big design company.com so if you have a big landscape company so um i want to be able to grow that and bring that and incorporate that with the daily talk show right and just just do a bunch of creative stuff like i think there's so much that the daily talk show does now that can just balloon out and expand and do all this crazy stuff that you guys don't even know same people didn't think everyone's like 30 dollars you can have an answer he's got hopefully you try to get the domain name the other guys that's a great ring i love that it was inspiring when i started listening to you guys at the very beginning i'm like oh i bought this really fucking generic domain big media company the daily talk show is like the most generic simple name that you can get yeah but it works yeah that's what i love about it and so it's not that i'm copying the same thing but like having a big design company or my own design company where it's like with you guys being a company it's just you you have all you have all the control right yeah with my quote-unquote big design company what was 97 laughing yeah why are you laughing because he's the puppeteer just trying not to dangle up the strings you know yeah he's a geeky little geeky he's a lucky boy they're like that and so what is it for you 97 um probably all the all the people that we connect uh like all the people that connect with each other through the show and the people that we get to connect with i would have never been able to meet like uh like jemma uh pete andrea like all these all these like like amazing people you never actually get to really meet them outside of this experience and so being able to be around all those people and talk to them um is epic and i think the the other thing is being able to connect all these different people who listen to the show so like jemma and pete never knew each other before before the show and it's being able for like listeners to actually like message each other and catch up and do all that stuff like that well jemma's being on dan to boost podcast yeah through through you know dan being on the daily talk show and jem hearing the right sort of thing yeah then you have pete and jemma actually like uh chatting and all that sort of thing and so what are you saying the dot connecting the people yeah so yeah so i guess like the part that i'm excited about is to see what eventuates from all these people connecting up with each other because you build a whole like expansive network and it and it goes beyond just the show because those people actually develop their own relationships so you just have a massive like web of all these like awesome people you know what one of the phrases josh used early days was how do we scale our friendship and so it's like scaling a friendship doesn't necessarily mean you need to have hundreds of friends of your own but it's like the scaling of friendship essentially could mean this creates you know the sort of the flow and effect for other people to connect the friendship to be a focus because that's what the show is right friends chatting yeah and i like that yeah what about you baby boy personally um why i get to be involved with all of the network like i get to meet all those people that's that's the exciting thing to see all those like yeah i guess people at the forefront of all the industries that's that's exciting for me because you don't get to see that yeah elsewhere good i can um i can imagine something related to the moon you know how we spoke about the moon the other day oh yeah yeah seriously i think going to florida and watching it take off or wherever that would be good fun it would be good to do a bunch of like once we've settled into the studio having opportunities to go out and about go to north america where we're close to dill he can pop on down see us you guys can pop on up yeah absolutely america's great and all that yeah we could definitely we could do a canadian in fact if we could do a canadian straight away if you were to do a daily talk show episode in a snowstorm so what you want to do if we were to do you guys you guys bundle up in like 15 minutes we also don't really go out when it's fucking disgusting outside hence why you know when you go to america in the summer or like going to the back end of summer it's really lovely so if we were to go to canada where should we be on our list where should we go first uh well vancouver obviously because it's closest to here like if you're talking geographically uh do vancouver you do spend time in the rockies yeah calgary calgary or edmonton that would be doing some form of like uh camping i think it's heaps of camping or glamping yeah for you glamping yeah i did say i've been watching camping videos on youtube are you just watching that kid that was camping in his backyard that's got 10 million views yeah that's hilarious he's right isn't he's that was you he was using a sleeping bag yeah yeah what was his whole thing it's like i'm gonna spend 24 hours in my camp yeah he was he was trying to get a film himself in the snowstorm i think he actually went inside during the night because it was cute that'd be great fun yeah that's right uh well thank you number wise how many people are absorbed in the show and then having like seeing all these people in real life because one thing to look at a username on the screen right on instagram but then when they're sending videos they're tagging us in posts it's like that's that's pretty cool yeah the world is a nice place yeah yeah what's scarring i have a feeling it's scarring but it's actually getting
