This week on The Special Needs Children Podcast- Expert Series, our CEO Chitra Iyer, is in talks with Dr. Milind Vasant Kirtane, a renowned and highly respected ENT surgeon, practicing in Mumbai for over 50 years. A pioneer in endoscopic sinus surgery and cochlear implants, he has trained 1,200+ ENT surgeons, performed over 4,000 cochlear implant surgeries. In 2014, he was awarded the Padma Shri for his contributions to medicine.He talks to us about his journey, Cochlear implant and its impact, training and mentorship, and also the I Hear Foundation which he established that funds implants and trains audiologists. For some of you who might not know, Chitra Iyer, is a Special Needs Parent herself and a Trustee with Forum for Autism. Her 25 year old son, Shravan, has Autism, Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. Professionally, she is a Financial Coach and the CEO of MFA, a 18-year-old organization that specializes in Goal-based Investing and has been supporting the cause of Autism for more than a decade now.
