Now I've had record. Oh, God. Oh, I really wish I had some wine. Me too.

I, like, I don't know, 300 steps away from a little market that not only has, like, wine to go, you know, like in a bottle, but it also has, like, what they call wine tasting, but really it's like a bottle of wine on the counter. I love that theory. I love that practice. I'm there for that.

This is the two girls talking podcast. It's not even where you're supposed to say. Yeah, I feel like wine at this point we make my life about 20% better than it is this moment, and that's all I need is a little 20% boost. 20% is actually a lot as someone who works for marketing agency and has to deal with, like, incremental percentages worth celebrating.

20% is actually a big amount. I would agree with that. I haven't been keeping track of any percentages lately, so. But I too have been marketing allegedly.

You're in the whatever feels right line of work. God. Moving on. Moving on.

Welcome back. You were on a trip. Thank you. I was on a very long trip.

I was on a trip for 11 days with FAFTEN, who apparently secretly listened to our podcast. Oh, yeah. So I know that because of the metrics. But I didn't tell you because I wanted to see if she would ever reveal that she actually listened to it because she never does.

Yep. So that's not all that she doesn't do on the internet. She also, I think, looks at Instagram all the time and doesn't like anything on purpose, so that nobody can track her little whereabouts and what she's looking at. But she occasionally text me to be like, cool picture.

Where's that? What's that? I'm like, OK, the madismus end. No, I like it.

I like it. Oh, it's so sneaky. I just didn't think she was that sort of sneaky, you know? But it's always fun to learn new things about people you've known for a long time.

Well, she is Kate's sister. The sneak of all. Yeah, cut from the same sneaky cloth. LAUGHTER We had such a nice time, though.

We didn't fight at all. No arguments. We had just lots of laughs. Grand old time.

It was very good. That's exciting. I know. We started out near it.

We asked me lots of questions about you and your travels. You came up a lot because we were traveling in a camper, much like, I think a little bit bigger than maybe than Faribee is. But maybe about the same size. So we kept dwelling on the life of a small house dweller, like ourselves, and what it was like, and keeping it clean, and picking up after yourself, and making the bed, and all those little things that life brings to you.

The problems of ice. Do the problems of ice? Ice is my life. I was mentally all the time.

And the sister of every area of my life, forever, or the grass is always greener. So I'm always thinking about different ways I could upgrade my trailer, or get a different trailer, or whatever, of course. And there's, so I don't have a fridge. I have an ice box, which is powered by ice.

And it's annoying because I have to buy ice all the time. And I was thinking about, because they have these mostly portable, dimmedic fridges that run off of the kind of electricity that my trailer battery powers. So I would probably have to buy a generator, or solar power panels, in order to actually power this kind of like, dimmedic fridge thing. But I was like, hey, if I had it, I could freeze things.

So currently I didn't actually freeze anything. So then I could buy frozen vegetables, which is the dorky truth of why I wanted freezer. But so in my head, I was like, I wonder what the break even is on buying ice versus buying this fridge. And the power source to power it.

But also having a power source would greatly improve my life in general, because I would stop killing my truck battery twice a month. I'd visit with AAA, because I've killed my truck battery by trying to power my life all at once irresponsibly. Very irresponsibly. People ask me, like, you're like, your life is so exotic.

What's it like on the road? You must do so many exciting things. And I'm like, well, I charge my computer off my AAA. And just trying to steal power at various places.

And then trying to find Wi-Fi spots. It's really a romantic time. Yeah. No.

The trip planning of cross-referencing national or its maps with some coverage maps. It's so exotic. Well, we got a little taste of the exhaustion factor, even though Apton had done a lot of planning. It still was like, we got to roll with the punches.

We got to like, oh, we're not staying here tonight. We're going to go somewhere else. We got to go to Walmart, home of the traveler. Apton didn't know you could stay in Walmart parking lots.

And I was like, I know a homeless person who lives in a trailer. Let me tell you more about all the places you could sleep. Not every Walmart parking lot. But it's a commonly held myth that anyone will do.

But actually, there's a lot of city regulations against the homeless. Yeah. The one that we stayed at in Salt Lake City, we parked next to a giant sign that said no overnight parking, even though I had called and they said, that should be fine. So don't know what was going to happen there.

Yeah, if you ever, I mean, I have this app called All Stays, which is like a $10. That's what we're checking. Yeah, so usually it'll have this paragraph for the Walmart's where it's like, touch and go. And it'll be like, one person will be like, in June.

They called and it was OK. In July, they got kicked out. In August, it was OK. But if anybody gets kicked out, it says they got kicked out at all.

And like, the last year, I won't go there. Because I cannot even imagine the fear. I would feel if someone like, some like, rent a cop at 2 AM and knocked on my trailer door. Like, I would like, ship my pants out of fear.

And so I would, no, no. Instead, I go park in a neighborhood. And I get away with it a lot better there. But Walmart's nice because it has a bathroom.

It does have a bathroom. That was another thing, trying to find bathrooms all the time. We started out in Arizona. And well, we started out in California and drove all the way through to New Mexico the first day.

Then we drove through Colorado and visited Avid listener of the show, Erin Cartmel and her daughter, Lillian. Yeah, we got to see them at a Safeway. Because I don't know how to use the Starbucks app and found the Starbucks app in Safeway. It's about 18 different times.

Does the app makes it so clear? I know. I didn't use the app that time. I looked on Google Maps like an idiot and was like, oh, this one looks like it's in an area that makes sense at a sustainable Starbucks.

Nope. And I did that three other times before I used the app correctly. Yeah, Google Maps is, I mean, it's just the app roulette that I do every single goddamn day is traveling is no joke. I don't make plans, by the way, because like, it's past.

It's like, I plan. Like, I'm like, what we're planning now is the next 24 hours. It was very fun to see Erin. Elaine has a very outgoing personality and was running around the store and absorbing a lot of attention, which I felt very jealous of, because I'm an adult.

So yeah, you'll never get the real attention. I will brook no rivals, as Jonathan Olson once said, in response to someone else trying to throw like a graduation party the same day as him. He got very upset. And I was like, that's the best response to anything I've ever heard.

A total freak out. So then we drove from, oh, yeah. So that second day, actually, yeah, wow, we made it all the way to Wyoming. I stayed in Kirkouti State Park outside Cheyenne.

And then we drove through Wyoming to Independence Rock, and up to Cody. We were there for a couple days. Independence Rock from the Oregon Trail game. Yes, that's why we went there.

Because of the Oregon. Right? Yeah. No, I think you need to get there by July 4th or something.

Oh, is that what it is? It's like otherwise you're stuck in the mountains in the winter. It's bad conditions. Yeah, it's a stop along the trail.

After I knew more about it, she was like, oh, yeah, you have to trade 10 sets of clothing with the Indian guide here. She had some inside details on how they were going to show. I know all about this area. Yeah, but basically a lot of it was from Independence Rock.

The weirdest thing of all was that nowhere else in the state, basically was their reception, except on the back side of Independence Rock for no reason that anyone could see. No cellphone towers, no nothing. But right there it worked. And I was like, oh, a little Independence Day miracle for us.

Now I feel like looking it up on my coverage app to see, because this coverage app, which again, is like a costly $10 app, but totally worth it, if you like me, are homeless. Sure. And it, so you see all four major carriers, and then you can layer the maps for 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE coverage, et cetera. So sometimes when things are fishy, I like to flip around and see who has coverage wear.

There was this one area of Texas that had no Verizon coverage, but it did mysteriously have sprint. No, no, that's a lie. Let me tell you why. I can tell you where the sprint coverage is in the Western half of the United States.

It is within the boundaries of LA County, and that is it. And you have to be outside. Don't even think about getting it inside, about building an LA County. No, no, you're holding it outside towards the surface of the sun, praying that somehow it will bounce off and get into your phone.

No, I called them at Old Faithful. We're sitting there waiting for Old Faithful to go off, and I started a fight with someone in Malaysia, sadly, because I was like, this is insane. I have never had no coverage across eight different states, no coverage, extended 1X, nothing. The person was like, I'm so sorry that you seem to be having a little trouble.

And I was like, this isn't a little trouble. This is the inability to connect to the internet or make a phone call. This is dangerous. I love that you thought calling them was worth anyone's time.

Well, the only reason I did that is because they shut off my roaming data. And I was calling to beg for some more data scraps, and they wouldn't give them to me. She was like, well, I can turn it back on, but it'll cost $500. And I was like, I've never in my life not found a solution when calling Sprint.

I've been a customer for nine, whipping out all the old classics. Nothing helped. Anyway, so yeah, there's no coverage anywhere in Wyoming for poor Amanda May. So I was scrambling from brewery to brewery, seeking out a Wi-Fi where I could.

Yeah, we full-time travelers have a lot of jokes we tell about Sprint, because people will be like, you know, there's like 500 Facebook groups about like internet on the road. And like new people will join the group and be like, I have Sprint unlimited. It's the best deal for me for unlimited. Has anyone had any issues like traveling?

And it's like I'm like, where do I start? Yeah, exactly. No, it's like people turn flourish and they're like, hey, like, does anyone know much about promoted listings? And you're like, all right, pull up a fucking ice block.

And I don't know, it just said to automatic bid. What should I do that? Should I do that? And everyone's recent.

And we're all sitting on it. And we're all bidding on it for sure. Oh my God, that's so accurate. Do you think this is a scam?

Anyone gets a convo ever flourish. Is this a scam? So yes, in the internet RV groups, it's a lot like that, where someone's like, Sprint's, you know, I've been with Sprint forever. It's a really great deal.

Like thoughts on hitting the road and everyone's like, the joy emoji with the giant water coming off. And everyone's just like 16 of these. Oh my gosh. Yeah, no, I was so enraged.

And Abden has a work phone and a regular phone. Her work phone is Verizon. And it had 4G coverage and how to wear. Yeah, no, it wasn't legit.

I was like, I'm going to have to switch to Verizon out of like anger. Like, sure, Sprint works in my house, but I don't, I was so enraged. I was just so angry. Anyway.

So then we went to the Cody Wyoming, which normally has 10,000 people and for 4th of July has 40,000 people. And we saw some beautiful fireworks and sat in front of some Cody locals as they discussed different goings on at the ranch. It was like straight out of the Netflix original TV show, The Ranch with Ashton Kutcher. I've never known that.

You haven't? No. Oh my god, allow me to ruin your life. Wait, can I, wait, first, can I guess what it is?

Yes. OK, OK, so all you need to know, well, yeah, here's the information you have. It's called The Ranch and Ashton Kutcher. Yeah.

OK, so he's got some dumb ranch as one of his like 5 million hobbies and it's out in the middle of nowhere. And he brings entrepreneurs in like a jam pad style to like talk about their business. But it's also like a little bit bachelor at bachelor. OK, I love that idea.

I'm going to give you one more shot at this. And I give you one more detail. OK, so I'm not right. It's not a reality show.

OK, is that the only detail? Yeah. Wait, is he in it or is he just like an EP? He's the star of it, my friend.

He's the star of a show. How does he have time for that when he's like telling everyone what apps they need? Are you going to guess what the show's about? And who else is in it?

Is Mila Kunis in it? No, that it wouldn't be a reality show. No, I don't have any more guesses. I'm only interested in Ashin Kajur reality shows.

You love Ashin Kajur-Rongcoms. We talk about it once in episode when you talk about it. I love Ashin Kajur's romcoms from the years 2002 to 2007. Well, you may enjoy The Ranch, which is a multi-camera show, all a big bang theory, with a laugh track starring Sam Elliott as his dad, Deborah Winger as his mom, Danny Masterson as his brother.

So it's a real and then there's a lot of other like that Sunday show alums that show up. Like, well, their Vamarama was a recurring character for a while. It's quite the to do. It is a show more carefully calculated to appeal to the Republican, Red State, conservative, middle of the country people than anything I've ever seen in my entire life.

So it is one of Ashin's business hobbies. I would say so, definitely. And you can guess, in my life, why I've been exposed to it perchance, someone that I live with that loves watching. Bad television.

Well, maybe I'll check it out. It's terrible. It's one of the dumbest shows I've ever seen in my entire life. And it's so bad.

But John likes it. He's like, I was like, why do you even watch this? It's horrible. And he said, you know, I'm kind of just amazed that it exists.

I recently started watching Suits Again, which I watched the first two seasons of, which I heard like, I don't know, six, seven years ago. And I liked it, but not enough to stay long-term invested. I feel like it didn't age very well. When I started starting to go through it.

No shows age well, ever. And then, but I'm a fan or something on Facebook. Somehow they've targeted ads directly to me. Because I guess it's about to start.

Probably because I liked it at one point back when I watched it. And they're like, why are they targeting new ads? What's the new ads about? So I think the new season is starting, because there's been a countdown, et cetera, going on in these ads.

But one of the things I did was a replay of all of Donna and Harvey's shipping moments, basically. And these ad videos play in my feed. And my shipper heart, I didn't even like the show enough to ship these two characters. But I love shipping so much in general.

But any sort of fan vid that's happening inside my Facebook feed, I can't look away from. And so I got curious about what happened between Harvey and his secretary Donna over the years. It seems like some pretty exciting stuff maybe. And maybe they're finally going to get together or something.

I don't know, shrug emoji mysteries. But I've been totally taken in with these ads that I got on YouTube and was like Harvey Donna scenes, Harvey Donna fan vid, Harvey Donna love story. You're losing it. Trying to get some sort of soap opera digest summary of their release.

And nothing was satisfying enough. So I was like, well, I guess I now have to watch. Now I have to catch up on the five seasons of the show. I haven't seen.

And now here I am. I just finished season three. So well on my way. You're doing the Lord's work.

Speaking of shows that are coming back, the L word is coming back. I'm very excited about that. I love the L word. It is ridiculous in every single way.

But I still love it. I can't believe it's coming back with all the same people that it's not just like. Well, it's not always like you're translating the name. Well, it's like four or five of the same of the main cast members.

And then they're bringing out apparently a whole new set of girls to like liven it up. That's pretty much the plot line topic, what the description of every episode. Girl, I mean, this week on the L word 17 girls, you've never heard it before. Comment and talk everything up.

Maybe they'll be back in the week. Maybe for sure that maybe they'll be back next week. Maybe we'll just get someone pregnant. You never know.

I especially loved the comments on Jezebel, where someone was like Jenny Shektor will probably come back from the dead from the dead just for this. That'd be so like her. Oh, it's such a Jenny move coming back from the dead. Spoiler alert.

Well, she dies at the very beginning of, I guess it's a spoiler. It's been so long, whatever. No one is sad as a Jenny Shektor died. No, in fact, it'll help you keep watching the show with the seasons she's in if you know that eventually.

Something bad happens to her. Something happens. Although apparently I never even finished the last season of the L word and apparently it's never resolved to kill her, which I think is amazing given that that's the entire point of that season. Everyone was like, I wonder if we'll finally ever find out who killed Jenny.

I was like, what is happening? Even if the show can't surprise me anymore and it always does. And it still does. I know, it's amazing.

Anyway, I'm just happy. It was funny too, because all the comments were like, Shane, Shane McCutchen's back on TV. And I was like, oh, my people in the world. They're one interest.

Shane, turning straight women. Gai-ish. Gai-ish. Like 1 4th day, I would say.

She's on Ray Donovan and has been for like three seasons. I don't know what it is. It's a show with Leve Schreiber on Showtime, I think. I have never watched it.

But it keeps winning awards and being on TV. No one ever talks about it. Four seasons. Yeah.

Weird. I know. Yeah, never heard of it. Yeah.

Did you want to return to your slow roll trip replay? Yeah, sure. So we left off in Cody, Wyoming. Yeah, we were in Cody.

And after I went to the rodeo, we came back and said that was the most patriotic thing I've ever been to. You would have died. And I was like, hey, man. Why don't I stay here at the Walmart?

Yeah, glad I said, well, I went to the brewery to hang out with Devin the waitress who was charming and convinced me to eat some hot wings. She said, I'm a hot wings kind of girl. And I said, me too. And then she brought some.

You said, you're turning me a quarter. Gai-ish. Basically. I was like, maybe half gay now.

We'll see. Who knows? Bring me some hot wings. So I could be like you, beautiful Devin.

And oh, but they were so nice and sweet when I went in there. I was like, OK, I have some requests. I need the internet. I need a table with an outlet.

And I need you to know that I will purchase things. But I will be here a long time. And they were like, oh, yeah, no problem. Let's figure this out.

And like, made it happen. Did you learn how to be that way for me? Or is that just why we're friends? No, I think that's just why we're friends.

Like I just went in and was like, I need to address these things quickly. And if you can't help me, I need to go elsewhere. Yeah. I say that or some sweet variation of that a lot.

I was really nice about it. I was like, I'm so sorry. I know this is going to sound like a hassle. Whatever.

Apologizing for my existence. One time I was at this winery. I might have already bitched about this in Central Texas, Hill Country, Wine Country. There's a billion wineries.

There's a billion campgrounds. It's like what you do there. So you camp and go wine tasting. And I showed up to this winery.

And it did a fancy version of that skit. I'm here for the wine tasting. And I love like it would be so great. And I even had my own internet.

But I needed an outlet, right? Because that's my life story. And the hostess, who clearly doesn't even work there, she's just part of the wine club. And probably volunteers there for free wine.

Because she's like a rich wife. She was straight up like, this isn't a coffee shop. You can't do work here. You really watch me.

I was like, I don't even remember what I said. I was like, fuck you. And then I like, storm passed her. And then I went and floored her with a bartender, who was like, here's an extension cord.

And then gave me extra super full things. And then I was like, how do we destroy her? And he was like, oh, I've been trying to figure that out for years. Oh.

Yes. Everybody was really cool. And Devin picked up on the fact that I would be sitting there for several hours. And it was like, OK, I don't want to bother you too much.

But I'm still going to check on you a little bit. What an angel, except for heaven. The other night, I was at this restaurant. I'm like, it's a long story.

But I'm like, kind of at this resort place. It was like the hotel lobby restaurant, which is actually really good. But I was just having an artichoke appetizer, amazing, and a glass of wine. But I was there.

The whole patio was crowded. A bunch of families were having their vacation dinner. And one server was handling the whole section. And she was such a badass at it.

So this one guy, he had brought a glass of wine with him from the golf course. And she noticed that. And she didn't get in trouble. But she was like, oh, do you want me to put it in a refill?

And then later, he was holding it down by a side. And she couldn't see it. And she was like, oh, do you need more wine? She was so on it.

Despite the fact that the whole thing was crowded, she knew everyone's business all the time. So she could bring me alcohol. And I was like, I love you. Yeah, for sure.

We went river rafting, which was in Cody, which was crazy. Because we were supposed to go on a five mile trip. And we ended up going on a 12 mile trip because we missed our landing. And the boat crashed into the side of the river.

And trees dragged everybody and got everyone bloody. And the guide pushed out of the boat. And Afton had to pull the guide back into the boat. No.

Yes, I grabbed the oars and was trying to help. And we both, yeah, I feel mainly pulled her in. But I helped a little bit. And I was the only one apparently paying attention to the safety lecture, of course, where they were like, OK, this will never, ever happen.

No one ever, ever falls out of the boat. And the off chance they do, this is exactly what you do. And so my brain was immediately. I was like, OK, dunk her back in the water and pull her back up.

Like, grab her by the two shoulder straps and do it. Later on, I was like, I'm so sorry. I was telling you that. I'm sure you knew.

And I was like, I don't know. I didn't remember that. And I was like, well. You were like quite attending the situation.

Yeah, I was trying to. I felt weirdly calm. I didn't have a gummy. I was so strange.

I was like, I'm like, I'm like, stabbed. It was scary. But people were like bleeding and stuff. Anyway, everyone was very bonded by the traumatic experience.

And we went down the river. We saw Bald Eagle. It was great. So then the next day, the fifth, after I left for Yosemite, and sorry, Yellowstone.

I kept saying that the entire time. And Yellowstone is beautiful and amazing. And one of my favorite national parks I've ever been to. It was the first national park signed into creation by Ulysses Us Grant, I discovered, on my internets.

And it's home to half the world's geysers, which is pretty cool. Whoa. I know. I've never seen that many geysers.

Some of them go off once every five years. Some of them go off once every hundred years. Some of them go off every three minutes. It's insane.

There's a geyser there for everybody, I believe. And lots of fumaroles. And the landscape was crazy. So one morning, we woke up at like 5.30 and left our campsite.

Because we were going to go to the Grand Tetons after we drove around the entire D.V. Yellowstone. We went on every single road, after carefully marked it on the official map. And she was like, we're going on even this little road, say we went on this road.

I could tell she posted a picture of the map on Facebook. And I could tell that I was like, A, this is impressive. Cartography. B, I feel like this was intentional.

Just go everywhere. Oh, yeah. Well, the first day, we were like, let's just see how far we get. We wanted to see that day.

So we're like, oh, OK, that means tomorrow. We can definitely see everything we want to see tomorrow, in the same in less even more time. So and then that next day that we were there again, we just went to more geysers, basically. But and we tried to go on a hike, but the mosquitoes were so incredible.

Like there was so many of them. And we didn't have bug spray that by the time we got back, my back was covered in welts. And then I got home and John's like, well, you probably have Zika now. So pretty fun.

You were like, yeah, let's not get back. Right. Yeah, I am an organ and pretty much put DEET on my body three times a day. And still, I have like the back of my legs.

Yeah, back of my thigh, because apparently I didn't think it was important to bug spray there. Like maybe I thought my pants was good enough. No, they go through the pants. Yeah, and they like, they're like, they're like this unreachable ass zone.

Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah, no, for sure. Same.

Like my legs were covered in bites. It was awful. So yeah, one morning we woke up really, really early and went out to this geyser basin field. And that was probably one of the most beautiful, amazing things I've ever seen in my life.

Because it was like, as far as you could see, off in the distance, there was just steam and geysers like kind of going off and like. Is this when you decided to call sprint? It was shortly thereafter. No, it was the day before.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I'm going to need to start a fight with someone to really like make it a complete day. No, I was just mad that I got to Instagram at first, because of her, you know, Verizon. So of course I had to call.

So then we went to Grand Teton's, which was really beautiful, but I think you can understand it in like a day. And I think that's definitely more of a park where you would be doing activities. Like I think that's great for canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, like you should be doing stuff while you're there, rather than like enjoying nature and looking at stuff. There's also not that many animals that we saw.

We saw a bunch of animals. We saw black bears, grizzly bears, elk, herds of bison. Dude, if you haven't seen like the herds of bison that are in Yellowstone, that is some crazy stuff. Like it makes you really feel like you're in the old West.

It's insane. Anyway, Yellowstone, two thumbs way, way up. Pretty great place. Cool.

Then we went from Grand Teton's down to Bryce Canyon, which I really loved. It was super beautiful. I love Bryce Canyon. Yeah, super beautiful, super interesting.

All the hoodoos are very cool. It's like a really eroded canyon. So there's a lot of like dark, like reddish orange colors. And it's very much like what you think of.

I think when you're like, ah, the, you know, Southwestern Canyon look. Yeah. And so the first day we were there, we hiked the rim. It's like, it's like very old, like you're in an old timey postcard.

Yes, absolutely. Like, ah, the settlers in this area. And then the second day we went down and we hiked into the canyon all the way to the bottom and then all the way back up again, which was really fun. Dude, that's so hardcore.

When I was there, we rode horseback down into the canyon and back. And it was like a two plus hour horseback ride. And I was really sore. I can't even imagine hiking it.

The hike wasn't that bad, dude. It only took us like two and a half. It took us like two and a half hours. No, we thought it was a new walk.

I guess we were probably going the same rate as a person. Yeah, I think so because we passed at like, meal trains and there was lots of horses and mules there. And we were like, I think we're walking about the same speed. But I mean, even then we stopped to take pictures of everything.

And it was hard. Like it was pretty awful going up, but it was still like, I had proper water food and sleep. So I felt OK. I just was kept getting winded because of the elevation, I think.

And then we headed home. But yeah, it was a really good trip. I read a really fun book called Tash loves tell story about this girl who what? I have to tell you about a book I read.

So tell me about yours. And then I have to tell you about my book. Book corner? Yes.

Mind the way novel. And because I've been trying to write a way in novel, so I'm trying to do research on the same topic basically. So it's this girl who has a web series where she makes updates of Tolstoy's classic Anna Corinna. And she gets nominated for an award on the YouTubes.

And it's all about her and her high school friends and their relationships and lives and this and that. It's very fun. It's a fun book. I haven't finished it yet, but I need to.

What's your book? OK, so the book I read was a freebie I got. So with Amazon Prime, I get a free Kindle book each month. That's like a new release.

So they send me an email. And there's like nine books. And I get to pick which one. So I do this.

I have Amazon Prime. Yeah, I don't get that. You do. You just probably aren't reading the emails because they look like spamming.

I mean, they're like spam from Amazon. Like if Amazon wasn't emailing me 50 times, I specifically seek this out. But yeah, no, everyone with Prime gets it. It's called like First Pick or like this month's something, something.

And so each month I get so excited when the email comes. And I go in and I look at the cover. It has this nice landing page with all the six or nine books or whatever. And their cover is a little blurby.

And then you can see their Amazon reading for the book. But then I also cross-reference with good reads. And I do all this ridiculous, unnecessary research. And then I download the book.

But I like I'm always downloading more books than I have time to read. So like, I don't know when I picked up this book, but it was in my Kindle. And it's called Crimes Against a Book Club. And it is a book about these two women who decide to scam these rich ladies in this richly neighborhood by selling them really expensive face cream.

Because they're like, oh, rich ladies want to look younger. They're always looking for the latest anti-aging thing. They're always getting all this like surgeries, whatever, whatever. But so I was so into it because they're just like classic scammers.

Also, the book isn't very good. Very easy read. And it just kept making me laugh. It kept repeating, done little phrases, like media catnip.

No. Yeah. I do like that. Yeah.

So yeah, it's like this dumb fluffy book about two lady scammers. So I was like, I love these lady scammers. But get this. They add cocaine to the face cream.

What the hell? And so everyone using it is getting high off the face cream, which is making them like, I mean, it's making them love the face cream. They're like, I'm so competent. I'm so beautiful.

It totally actually works because of the co- Mm-hmm, right. That's insane. Yeah. By the way, you have to subscribe to the Prime membership delivered weekly newsletter in order to get the Amazon first picks, which I just subscribed.

But just so our listeners now, if you have Prime, you can subscribe to the newsletter and you get to pick out. Yeah. So that's a lot of Amazon first picks. There's also, from what I understand, there's also- Kindle first.

Yeah, Kindle first. Kindle first. That's what it is. There's also other stuff.

There's like free book rental and stuff. Oh, yeah. There's so much stuff. If you run out of stuff to read, there's a lot of opportunities with Prime.

And I usually go back and forth. I'll read the book I read before, Crimes Against a Book Club was called, Started Early Took My Dog. It's like this British mystery by this acclaimed British author, Kate Atkinson. So it was a little more cerebral, even though it's still just a murder mystery.

I mean, it's still like, it's no toll story. But it's really good, very finely tuned plotting. And then I like all about up with Crimes Against a Book Club, some cocaine scammers. I wanted to write a book club book.

Maybe I will someday. Well, yeah. And it had that classic book about a book club trope where each chapter mentioned a specific book. I don't know if you've read Jane Austen's book club, which is maybe the name of that book that was made into a movie.

But it's dated. No, I know which one you mean. I think it was called that. Again, this book, Crimes Against a Book Club, it mentioned all these various different books that all of these women in the book had supposedly read.

And I was like, that means the author has probably read these. Why is she such a terrible writer? I don't think being a good reader makes you a good writer. I need to write a good read.

I need to list this on a good read. I don't know if I have yet. You should do it. Do it, bro.

So yeah. And now I'm reading At Home. What's it called? At Home in the World, which is that book I talked about back in, I don't know, episode 34.

How can you remember what happened in the past? It's my superpower. That's right. Hang on, let me pull it.

Yeah, episode 34 at Home in the World. And so we talked about it back then, but I hadn't run it yet. And it's this travel memoir. And the author is doing a round the world trip with her family, her husband and her three kids.

And they spent three months in Asia. And then they spent another couple months in Australia. And then they just got to Africa. And it's making you want to go to all the places, just all of the places.

Oh, yeah. No, they were in Sri Lanka. And they went to this tea factory. It's just exciting.

Oh, they were in New Zealand. Traveling just makes me want to travel more. Yep. Yeah.

Well, while I was on the road speaking of traveling, I saw a couple crazy billboards. And I saw a couple that I forgot to take pictures of and don't remember, but they were very crazy too. I have one that I think you may have seen. Do you want to start with that one first?

Sure. I've got one too. OK. And we have a user submitted one.

Oh, exciting. From our super cool Facebook group. Oh, yeah. It is quite the rage in there, guys.

If you want to join, it's two girls talking dot club. And then you can click to join the Facebook group on there. So it's a couple smiling and having a pillow fight. And it says, sleeping on the couch tonight never felt so good.

I have to break some news to you. OK. We've done this one before on the podcast. Yes, no.

There's one in Rancho Cucamonga that last fall. I told you about on this podcast. What did we come to the conclusion that was even about? About how they got in a fight on purpose.

So that because and then now one of them has to sleep on the couch. It's for a furniture company. So they're like, yeah, our couches are so great. But you'll be glad that you had a weird fight.

Yeah. That was our thing. We already covered it. All right.

We already covered it. I got it. But I was just befuddled yet again. It got me again.

It got me again. You were super befuddled when I described it to you. I'm sure. But yeah, seeing in real life really drew it out of me.

So the other one I saw was driving through Las Vegas. I saw several billboards for this website. And it just said injuredinahotel.com. And that was all of that.

Which by the way, sounds like a viral campaign for like a horror film. Yeah. But there was also like a phone. I guess there was a phone number underneath it as well.

And all throughout the city, there's tons and tons. Every billboard is about like a personal location, lawyers, like every single billboard. I was like, that's crazy. Like what happens here?

What happened in Vegas you'll need a lawyer for. Basically, it's the vibe I was getting from every billboard I saw. But yeah, injuredinahotel.com really got me. I was imagining all the things that would happen.

And you're like driving away. So literally, you literally were injured in a hotel. And now you are going to get lawyer up. Yeah, I guess.

It just seems so odd to me. Like how many? So many. Yeah, there must be so many injuries that the billboards are worth it to them to do.

But I don't know. It just seems so strange. It really puzzled over it for me. You know what I bet?

It's like hotels probably never go to court or something. Like they'll always settle. So I bet it has a really high conversion. If someone says I was injured, it's instant cash.

Maybe that's what's going on there. That's my theory. Right. Because also, they probably don't have a lot of ways to prove that they didn't get hurt and so like that.
