41. Bhagavad Gita I Chapter 3 Verses 40-42 I Swami Sarvapriyananda

from Bhagavad Gita - Swami Sarvapriyananda · host Vedanta Society of New York - Archives

Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 40-42 from the third chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God". 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 40: इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिरस्याधिष्ठानमुच्यते | एतैर्विमोहयत्येष ज्ञानमावृत्य देहिनम् || 40|| indriyāṇi mano buddhir asyādhiṣhṭhānam uchyate etair vimohayatyeṣha jñānam āvṛitya dehinam 🔴His abode is said to be the senses, mind, and intellect. By means of these he obscures knowledge and deludes the embodied man. 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 41: तस्मात्त्वमिन्द्रियाण्यादौ नियम्य भरतर्षभ | पाप्मानं प्रजहि ह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम् || 41|| tasmāt tvam indriyāṇyādau niyamya bharatarṣhabha pāpmānaṁ prajahi hyenaṁ jñāna-vijñāna-nāśhanam 🔴Therefore, mighty prince! first controlling the senses, give up this wicked craving that destroys knowledge and realization. 🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 42: इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्य: परं मन: | मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धे: परतस्तु स: || 42|| indriyāṇi parāṇyāhur indriyebhyaḥ paraṁ manaḥ manasas tu parā buddhir yo buddheḥ paratas tu saḥ 🔴They say that the senses are noble; nobler than the senses is mind. Intellect is even nobler than the mind. What is nobler, still, than the intellect is He, the Self. ► To support the Vedanta Society of New York: http://bit.ly/SupportVedantaNY Vedanta NY Media details: Primary Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/vedantany Web: http://vedantany.org Soundcloud: http://Soundcloud.com/VedantaNY iTunes Podcast: http://bit.ly/vedanta-talks-itunes Google Play: http://bit.ly/vedanta-talks-google-play Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VedantaNY Instagram: @Vedanta_NY, https://www.instagram.com/vedanta_ny/ ABOUT VEDANTA Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest.
