41. Embracing Your Calling as an EOD Caregiver: Walking Confidently in What God Has Asked of You

from Living With EOD | Early-Onset Dementia, Caregiver Overwhelm, Abandonment, Respite Care · host Tonya Lynn Derrick | Biblical Mindset and Purpose Coach

Have you ever asked yourself… Is this really what God has called me to? Do you feel overwhelmed by the weight of caregiving, motherhood, marriage, and all the roles you are trying to carry? Do you question whether you are strong enough, equipped enough, or even capable of walking this out? As an early-onset dementia care champion, it is easy to feel like life has taken a turn you never expected. The responsibility can feel heavy, and the calling can feel unclear. But what if this season is not random? What if it is intentional? What if God has called you to this and He plans to equip you every step of the way? In today’s episode, we are diving deep into what it truly means to embrace your calling as a care champion and walk it out with confidence, peace, and purpose. You will learn: • How to recognize that your calling is not accidental, even in unexpected seasons • Why God does not call the equipped, but equips the called • How to hear God’s voice and discern His direction in your daily life • The connection between accepting your calling and experiencing peace • How to walk out your calling one step at a time without feeling overwhelmed This episode will help you shift from resistance to surrender, from confusion to clarity, and from striving to trusting. Key Scriptures from This Episode: Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you…” Hebrews 13:20–21 “Now may the God of peace… equip you with everything good that you may do His will…” John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” Isaiah 26:3 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Application (How to Walk This Out Today): • Acknowledge where God has placed you in this season and stop resisting it • Spend intentional daily time with God to hear His voice clearly • Ask God to equip you in the areas where you feel weak • Release the pressure to feel ready before you begin • Focus on today’s assignment instead of trying to solve everything at once • Look for how God is refining and strengthening you through this journey.
