#41 Itto Outini talks about growing up in an abusive environment, learning to read at 17, not being held back by her blindness, being a Fulbright scholar, and launching her own media platform

Itto grew up in the rural Atlas Mountains of Morocco. She experienced homelessness, learned to read at age 17, and was abused by her family. As a result of the abuse, she is now blind. The challenges in her life have not stopped her from becoming a journalist, author, entrepreneur, Fulbright Scholar, Steinbeck Fellow, MacDowell Fellow, and Founding Editor at The DateKeepers, an international media platform.  Itto shares her inner beauty by talking about overcoming the odds and following her passions. She says, "I believe in the power of dreams and the power of hard work...my blindness doesn't stop me from what I love and what I want to do." Itto talks about self-love as well as inner and outer beauty across cultures and languages. She also talks about how she and her husband launched the international media platform, The DateKeepers, last year as a media outlet for people all around the world to share their stories.
