41. Labyrinth (1986)

This episode is dedicated to the late Terry Jones, who (among his many accomplishments) wrote the screenplay for the topic of Will & Jes's conversation: LABYRINTH, the 1986 cult classic starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie. Topics include: the film's appeal to all age groups; the power of nostalgia; use of fantasy tropes to tell a very original "coming of age" story; the deep mythic and psychological underpinnings of Labyrinth's themes of growing up; celebrity deathmatch: Jareth the Goblin King vs. Freddy Kreuger... and much more.
