The number of people seriously injured in road traffic collisions in Clare rose by 46% last year. Newly published figures from the Road Safety Authority show 41 people were seriously injured in road crashes here in 2025, while another four individuals were killed. The RSA has also revealed that since 2017, three people have been killed and a further 8 seriously injured in incidents involving tractors and agricultural machinery. East Clare ICMSA Secretary Martin McMahon says while additional safety measures are needed, a minute of extra care can save a life.
