At age 56, Rob had a massive heart attack, flatlined, and had a near-death experience that led to his spiritual awakening and a greater understanding of why children suffer. He also has a greater appreciation of life and how we are all connected. His subsequent heart transplant led to some insights about organ donors and gifts of the heart.
